i do hope that Charlie stays . I think he still has a lot to offer and we would miss his free kicks and match changing passes.... I am not sure we would miss a thing about him. What has he offered this season? What have others offered? Good pro is Charlie. Great attitude too. Hope he stays on

I am not sure we would miss a thing about him. What has he offered this season? A fair few games,in fact lots, where he struggled with the pace of the game. However check out who created goals for Crouch last season, quite a few were Charlie. When games weren't as frenetic, Everton at home when he was outstanding and Burnley away where he was a threat all night he showed what he can do. Get rid? Maybe but it's wrong to dismiss him. It may be wrong to dismiss him but two games out of 25 is poor to be honest, suggesting he struggled in the rest. I don't know the actual figures for game time though.

When the going gets tough I know who I'd rather have in the dressing room and on the pitch

Along with Walters he's linked for a move every season. All so a journalist can claim an 'exclusive ' the one year they are finally correct.
I would guess being paid Premier League wages to start the odd game and usually get at least 20 minutes off the bench would be pretty hard to give up for a move to clubs with recent financial difficulties who you'd imagine would struggle to give him half of what he's on now.

Bojan & Imbula WERE given a fair crack of the whip. Bojan maybe, but certainly not Imbula. Imbula didn't deserve any more game time because he had become totally inept. We just couldn't afford to play him the way we were performing last season.

Much as I admire him - the premier league is simply too fast for him nowadays
and he needs to move on because, its becoming embarrassing when he comes on

Too many of you say a lot of bullshit about Charlie! He is a good player, never was the fastest, but he is far from being as unfit as some people here are trying to make it.

games just moved on, Not Charlie
same for Whelan - Johnson - Pieters - Bardsley - SJW even
the game is relentless and much faster from minute 1 to 95

What I always liked about Charlie was his ability to get us a goal or grab the game by the bollocks but last season, I can't recall him doing that much at all, especially in the 2nd half of the season.

I thought he was very poor, one or two decent passes but many many poor ones and he seemed to be off the pace most of the time. ( he wasn't the only one either though) Overall I don't he had a net positive contribution last season and if he moves on, best of luck to him as he's a really good lad. Wouldn't mind seeing him back at the Club in some capacity when he's finally done playing

I would hate to see Charlie go but if he wants to play consistently it is in his best interests. He should be looking across the pond at MLS to finish up His career. His direct style would be perfect for our sister club Orlando City. With Kaka getting on in years am midfield maestro like Charlie pulling the strings in the OC engine room would be something to see. I think Orlando could use a solid, gritty U.K. Player to put a little steel in the side.

So are you saying the heavy beatings early on in the season would not have happened with a midfield trio of Allen, Whelan and Cameron? Are you saying that we would have looked a worse side with Imbula in towards the end of the season? If yes, you are kidding yourself.

Say what you like about Charlie, but he makes things happen when he's on the pitch. Whether it be a two footed lunge and a red card, a truly exquisite throughball or a pearling top corner job from 35 yards. He's a pro-active bloke and i love him. He'll be an awesome manager one day and i hope he manages Stoke. Fucking love Charles i do
