What is the situation with him? It was reported that he had an extra year but never confirmed by the club, and sky sports claim he has left the club as a free agent.

He got an extra year on the sly so he's staying for now. I'd sooner keep him than Whelan even though I don't want to see either starting mainly on the basis that I see him as being far better with the development players. I was disgusted by Whelan"s attitude to N"Goy last season. That's the last thing you want to see when you're trying to blood players.

That doesn't mean he's not available for transfer though mate and it means a transfer fee Personally I hope he stays as off the bench he's a game changer

The real irony was that Whelan had kicked it forward ( you have to be careful using the word "pass").

This IS the case, I remember the game, and clearly saying it to the lads I watching it with at the time...whelans attitude was shite

Was it the West Brom away game? you could noticeably see N'Goy's confidence going down the pan with every passing minute. I felt sorry for him because he was asked to play out of position AGAIN in a game we were chasing. Not the lads fault at all and something Whelan, as one of the many experienced players in the side, should've taken into account before reacting like a petulant child. Those are the moments you try and encourage a young player, not make him feel worthless.

Those are the moments you try and encourage a young player, not make him feel worthless. It was a home game. He shouted to either the bench or a team-mate, I can't recall correctly. No player has the right to so publically lambast another, particularly a kid. And particularly when you're a limited a footballer yourself.

Adam is one of a clutch of players who simply are not good enough. If there were a magic wand, there are 5 or 6 of the regular matchday squad in the same boat.

I thought last season was one too many for Charlie. I've loved watching him over the years and he's given us some great memories, but I think it's now time to set him free to run with the wildebeest.

What has he offered this season? A fair few games,in fact lots, where he struggled with the pace of the game. However check out who created goals for Crouch last season, quite a few were Charlie. When games weren't as frenetic, Everton at home when he was outstanding and Burnley away where he was a threat all night he showed what he can do. Get rid? Maybe but it's wrong to dismiss him.
