It seems strange to have it on national TV, I don't suppose ITV will be signing up to the Glenn Whelan testimonial!
It seems every bit the lacklustre affair you'd expect it to be.
I always think these things are strictly for people with some emotional capital tied up in the retiring player.
I still think of him as mostly a West Ham player although a quick look at wiki shows he has been at Old Trafford since 2006!

Paul Scholes is just sheer class. Still on of the best individual performances I've seen since our promotion to the Prem, on our tiny pitch, hitting 80 yard passes straight to Valencia's feet. Met him a couple of times too and he's a proper down to earth guy.

We shouldn't laugh as we could be watching the core of our squad for next season, as Terry and Rooney are both in there along with some other very promising young players.

The other person I was thinking about in my original post about Scholes was Drogba, when he scored that screamer from nothing again Tommy. He was sheer class that day

He scored a couple of excellent goals against us. Ronaldo really underwhelmed in our two games against them, I thought. He let our supporters rattle him.
