Any other fans on here?
I kind of jumped ship back in '89 when they changed singer but Ive been impressed with a couple of tracks off Youtube, might well have to reappraise them

I saw them when Fish was lead and Lavender was out.
They were brilliant, have to say he never sang a bad note.
For me he was the band though so don't know about them now.

Only the best band in the world with the best fans.
I've seen them every year for the last 10 years and have every studio album (18), (including the latest F.E.A.R. (Fuck Everyone & Run) a commentary on Globalisation, Capitalism and the Exploitation of the Public), plus numerous other live albums.
They play Manchester most years and have recently done World Tours to the USA, Canada,Mexico and Chile as well as having their annual conventions in Europe and the U.K.
Their Studio Work is brilliant and they are magnificent live. Steve Rothery is God!!
P.S. the New Boy Singer, Steve "H" Hogarth, has only been with them on the last 14 albums and since 1989 (Fish is still worth listening to and seeing live and his last album A Feast of Consequences was his best for years).
If you think they haven't been around since Kayleigh then you've a lot of catching up to do.

After the split I got the next few Marillion albums and the next few offerings by Fish but they were decent but not near the high standards set by the old group but then again very few bands have ever got near those heights. I stopped going to see Marillion after the split but did go to see Fish a few years back at a concert in Sale during a bout of nostalgia. He didn't disappoint and we were even treated to a few tracks off Fugazi. He did however ask the audience to step in if he forgot the lyrics and it was great to see so many singing along.

Saw them at donnington monsters of rock in 85.... Rat, magnum, Metallica, Bon jovi, Marillion and ZZTop That week I bought the following albums .....Metallica, master of puppets. Bon jovi ep with runaway, roulette and another I can't think of right now. (But no jovi were voted best new band that year) Marillion - misplaced childhood I'd already got all the zztop albums To tell you how much I enjoyed Marillion...I can still recite in my head all the Misplaced childhood words to the album to this day, and I have a shit memory Ahhhh the memories

A spider wonders aimless within the warmth of a shadow, not the regal creature of thorn or cave, but the poor, misguided, directionless familiar of some obscure Scottish poet. The mist crawls from the canal like some proverbial phantom of romance..... Ooh you've started me

The sky was Bible black in Lyon When I met the Magdalene She was paralysed in a streetlight She refused to give her name And a ring of violet bruises They were pinned upon her arm. Two hundred francs for sanctuary and she led me by the hand To a room of dancing shadows where all the heartache disappears And from glowing tongues of candles I heard her whisper in my ear "'J'entend ton coeur" I can hear your heart

Not really listened to them in 15 years but I vaguely remember going to viccy hall to see them after a home draw with Liverpool might have been a cup game and Dereck D commenting on it being a good day because of Stoke result and Hibernan winning too.

I once had the misfortune to overhear... "Dilly, dilly lavender blue' etc. I now do my best to avoid it if possible. It's poor stuff.

There's nowt to like about that tune mate. 'Twatty'? A Marillionaire getting aggressive. That's an oxymoron. I thought you'd be a bit more discerning in yr musical tastes. Quite a let down Fel tbh.

I'd rather eat me own ear wax ta. I'm afraid I'm a lost cause as far as Marillion's ouvre is concerned. Soz. And I'm generally indiscriminate about muzak. One of the very few artistes that irk me. {In the company of Rainbow, Whitesnake, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Bob Dylan, ACDC, Beastie Boys, Crowded House, Muse, Mark Ronson, Daniel O'Donnell, Ed Sheeran and Keane} All that shite gets turned off. Welcome back again Trent.
