Thanks be, something cheerful to end this make it up as we go along season - but honestly what's not to like about today? Ok not beautiful but we didn't look in serious danger of losing it, that's one up to Sparky for tactical nous, and then we did what it took to come away with the points and a good part of that has to be down to management and motivation.
8 from me

I don't even like hughes but he finally eventually moved shaq into the middle
I think he actually changed things at one point to tighten up on redmond a bit ( during the game!)
Even ramadan got a run out
Was better :-)

Do we have to say if we like him or not?

6. Positives: Started Ramadan who looked lively. but with Arnie being in a sling Hughes was forced into making that change, wasn't he? Shaq ended up in the middle, eventually, and looked a lot better for it. Johnson got benched which was a relief.
Negatives: Did Diouf actually know what his position was? Three at the back doesn't suit us. Walters on instead of Berahino??? particularly when we had Shaq in the middle to thread the balls through. Shite defending would have cost us again without some superb saves from Butland. Still lots of room for improvement from LMH,

9. He tried something new, 3 at the back, Shaq at no10, Ramadan starting, some of this worked, some of it didn't. Half time he changed the system and we looked a lot better. If he wants us to use that system again he needs to practice it from now until August.

8 Changed the formation when it needed changing in the second half and played Shaq in the middle and started Sobhi.
But it is a pity that he waited until the last game of the season to put Shaq in a position where he obviously looks comfortable and play Allen in a deeper role where he obviously looks more comfortable. And his failure to give Sobhi much game time in the past 2 months is a mystery.
For me, if we play a 4231 then the 3 (when all are fit) should be Arnie, Shaq and Sobhi - in that order - although Arnie and Sobhi should be encouraged to interchange regularly during the game.
If he stays then he MUST sort out our full backs. 4231 suits us - but only if we have full backs who regularly put in good crosses and provide the width.

8 A good performance and result, an away win at a top ten premier league team is surely worth a decent rating. Somehow I think this particular 'rate the manager' thread will be rather short compared to when we lose....go figure

7 - As a one off result was good. But we really look vulnerable to the ball over the top, Not a good idea to play 3 at the back against teams with good wingers and attacking fullbacks. Still can't press home an advantage, dreadful final ball in most cases.
