Memories of another (better) era in football.

Was a great vision when the camera panned the ground. Even better when it went close up and showed it made up of lots of cut up green bin bags and shiny paper.
Great design on the cheap.

If Celtic do go the whole season unbeaten then surely this will make them one of the greatest, if not the greatest team ever to take to a football field.
That wears Green and White Hoops and is from Glasgow....

If they do it it's still an achievement. Look how rare it is. In Scotland it hasn't happened for many years. In the top flight of England it's only happened once. Milan did it early 90s. It still takes some doing.

1st in a one horse race, hardly an achievement.

Its an achievement, but this celtic team is not a patch on the great teams of the past.
Spl teams up here genuinely often look to the english non league to sign players

Because back then a team like Celtic could be European Champions. It isn't as if they were a small club though. They are actually quite a big one

Lots of reasons - but all related to one thing; money. Which has destroyed competition in football. There is no competition in that league. One European giant and the rest third rate pygmies.

The Celtic side of 1967 was special, no question. Of the 15 man squad all but one of them was born within 10 miles of Celtic Park (the exception being Bobby Lennox, he was born 30 miles from Glasgow). Can you imagine that now? You're lucky to get 11 players born in the home country, never mind the home city. In '67 they won all three major domestic trophies plus the European Cup. In the final they came up against a very tactically sophisticated side in Inter Milan and battered them. They weren't just the best side in Scotland at time, they were the best side in Britain and probably Europe.

You tell me a manager anywhere in the world who did something comparable, winning the European Cup with a Glasgow District XI."
