I have a Guilty confession to make - I love Gin. I know that gin is traditionally a drink enjoyed by elderly ladies and I am neither of the above, and people think Gin smells of perfume, but I think gin is miles better than Vodka/Rum (I like whisky too). Feel free to discuss this beautiful drink on this thread.

Hendricks, Brockmans, Sipsmith with Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic, a grating of ginger and a slice of grapefruit. It's all about the botanicals.

Another vote for Hendricks with slice of cucumber. I strayed they other week and had a glass of Bombay Sapphire, and I need to try some more for research purposes.

A friend of mines father was a massive gin drinker(it killed him in the endXx)& he drank it with water, like whiskey drinkers. Anyway, he liked Plymouth gin, but as a home brand he rated Sainsburys

Just another fad, even though I've grown partial to the odd G&T. What next one wonders? Perhaps Bacardi will make a comeback!

Here's a tip for a simple, but V effective dessert. Make a decent fruit salad & put a splash of gin on it. Completely transforms it into something sophisticated

That Forest Gin they sell at the spirits shop in Trentham is lovely (made from ingredients gathered only within the boundaries of the historic Forest of Macclesfield) but it's quite expensive. Wade make the bottles . I mostly drink Bombay Sapphire or Plymouth.

Lidls own stuff isn't bad, had some Bathtub Gin for Xmas that was very good, on Bombay Sapphire at the minute. The tonic makes a massive difference, that Fever Tree stuff is the bollox for me, bit pricey mind. Slice of lime is obligatory, as is ice

Anyone here tried New Amsterdam Gin? It's an American gin exceptionally smooth and refined. I went into a Spar in Shrewsbury one lunchtime to buy a sandwich and walked out with a bottle of this under my arm as well. You can get it in some Sainsburys and Morrisons as well. Very highly recommended.
