He was a great signing for us. Top video that. I love to see a defender get on the end of a good cross and a placed or bullet header flying in.

I'll always appreciate the Icelandic period, Shtaniuk and Hoekstra were a joy to watch and up there with my all time favourite Stoke players.

He's can't be older than 37/38, so there is still a chance Hughes will re-sign him

Was it Gudjon that signed him? He sure did ! I once had the pleasure of Gudjons company (lovely true football man) and he told me that he signed Sergei after seeing him play on a video clip !! He payed next to nothing for a tremendous player and apparently the board went berserk with him..... He was a man mountain and wonderful header of the ball. I remember him clearing from his own box and he could head a ball to the fekkin half way line !!

Top centre half. Hard as nails, a great organiser and a fantastic leader. Shame we only had him for 2 years, he could have been fantastic under TP, particularly with TPs emphasis on set-pieces.

How nice would it be to have a centre half that scores the odd goal like that eh!!! 😕

Absolutely fantastic in division 3 (or league 1 or whatever). In division 2 (championship) I'd say Gerry Taggart was better the following season, as were Overson and especially Cranson some years earlier.
I felt certain things like too many daft fouls given away unnecessarily held him back a bit. I agree with RAF, I think he'd have struggled a bit in the top flight.
