It's hard trying to pinpoint particular weaknesses in our squad since we are a complete shambles but my frustration with shaqiri just grows and grows.
Today I got absolutely fucking sick and tired of watching him do the same thing time and time again, cutting inside.
He failed to put a single decent ball in to the striker and whilst shaq is in the team we will never get the best out of berahino because shaqiri just does not pass to him, and his balls in are easy to defend.
The 'alpine dwarf messi etc' also brings the WORST out in arnie. They clearly love each other and often try to play between themselves ignoring midfield runners and striker movement.
In short, he needs to be fucked off along with the entire midfield, all of the full backs except bardsley, and several others of course.

If we lose Shaq and Arnie then you can put your money on relegation.

Shaq does create for us though and we're a much better team when he plays. He is going to lose the ball because he tries to make things happen frequently. If he had no end product then I could see where you're coming from, but for me Shaqiri has to stay with us. Put better players around him and he will only get better.

Arsenal loved watching him collecting the ball 30 or 40 yards from goal and turn inside towards traffic. Meanwhile they concentrated on getting the ball out high and wide and fast themselves. Even I could see what was going on and I was listening to the match on the radio!!!

His disregard for his defensive duties today was shocking. Constantly let monreal walk off him leaving an already shite Johnson overrun. Add to the fact he only beat his man once or twice and barely got a cross in or found his man, I think it was his worst game for us.
That said, we all know if he was at his best every week he'd never be at Stoke. I'd play him centrally where he can thread those through balls and find pockets of space to cause damage. Arnie and Ramadan on the wings and bobs your uncle imo

He needs to play through the middle. Yep. Get a dedicated RW and our attack should sort itself out. Then we can move onto the midfield and defense

Do you reckon that we'd get more than £12,000,000 back for the pair if we cut our losses on Shaqiri and Imbula?
What's the point in having him if he's going to miss half of the season, and only turn up for about five of those games that he does play?

Arnie did it on the other side today, once he got angry and started to give a fuck. Shaqiri doesn't turn up often enough, that was another lazy performance from him

Agree with a comment above, he is very skillfull but he is not a winger
Ask the switzerland manager and he will tell you that for nothing
In and around the box, trying to slide through teddy sheringham Peter beardsly style killer balls maybe
But a winger? I can't imagine him flying past people like sobhi or zaha or redmond

Lets be honest, 90% of our squad aren't good enough to play in the Premier League. Arnie and Shaq are good players but too often there is very little end product. Whelan, Adam, Crouch, Walters, Bardsley, Johnson and Shawcross are all playing on borrowed time because of their age. There is no pace in any of them. Allen started well but again for most of the season there has been no end product. Pieters has had his worst season for us and I would have preferred to see Muni play more often. Cameron is finally being played in his right position but his distribution is woeful. Diouf puts in a shift but again with no end product. Berahino better hit next season like a bomb, because he has been disappointing so far. Sobhi, Grant, and Indi are the only ones who have impressed me this season. As for Imbula......

Shaq is often very good when we play the teams around and below us, but when we are up against quality he seems to contribute less to nothing! He simply isn't good enough at defending to play on the wing in these games! Put him in the middle and let Arnie and Ramadan handle the wings! It was obvious in the first half, but Hughes did nothing at all! You don't need to be a tactical genious to see this, but he obviously didn't! That is a bit frightening to me to be honest!

He needs to play through the middle. What is so frustrating is that so many of us can see that this is the way to go and with Sobhi on the right. Why on earth Hughes can't see this is totally baffling

Shaq is not a creative winger. He creates fuck all for the striker and is a big reason why we are struggling to score If you think he creates fuck all then you're not watching Stoke. He creates nothing for the striker.this season he has been in and out and hasnt got an assist for a goal scored by a striker. What I am talking about here is his ineffectiveness from wide positions. I believe he should be played through the middle. What we need to realise is that our goalscoring problems, and the lack of chances being created for our strikers, is all worsened by playing shaqiri on the wing. It was embarrassing at times today and the arsenal player just blatantly ignored the flank and knew Every time that shaq was going to step inside. Ball after ball, shot after shot defended with ease. But still, shaq just did the same thing every time. Woeful

Genuinely thought he was our best player today. He is certainly the least of our problems. Can't really blame him for that defeat. That defeat was the fault of our atrocious fullbacks and two central midfield players who work hard or are out of their depth.
I think this season the main issue has been his fitness. When he has played he has been inconsistent yes, but he can also deliver those moments of quality that are the difference at this level.

He is never going to be a truly effective player in our current set up. As the OP said he is completely predictable, he cuts in every single time and sets off on a bit of a 'ramble' that occasionally results in him having a pot shot from distance but more often than not just fizzles out into nothing in particular. We either find a way to use his talent within the overall team effort or we move on to a more conventional winger. At the moment he is just a gifted individual.
