And we still moan.
Aren't we also one of only 7 or 8 clubs to have stayed in the Premier League for 10 seasons or more now Sunderland have dropped?

Those stats mean fuck all.
Records began 130 years before the premier league started.

In terms of capital appreciation, ie cash generated (mainly through TV sponsorship) every season now is worth ten of being in the old 1st Division. The gap between top clubs and everyone else is growing and if we can stay on the coat tails of the top 6/7 for even more years, we will be in the most amazing place ever financially. Let's enjoy.

Hence, we aren't just plucky survivors anymore, we're not underdogs or favourites for relegation. We have had a good stay in the league, with a great amount of investment and opportunity to continue to improve without having the disruptions of relegation. So, for how sodding long are some people going to be telling us that we should be grateful and just be happy to reach 40 points and avoid relegation?

What a complete surprise.... with a couple of exceptions teams who have spent the longest in PL have generally accrued the most points. Per game statistics are much more meaningful.
