Got admit it's the most stupid place to stop and drop someone off. It's nearly caused many a pile up.

Can't see what the problem is with the enforcement, at least people are getting due warning. It is the selfishness and laziness of people that have brought this about, but I dare see that the authorities will be slated for having the brass neck to enforce the law and trying to keep people safe.

You will get away with a few times but eventually you'll get hit. Imo it's just stupid stopping on a busy slip road with cars tanking past. It's a death trap waiting happen so stop it now before it happens

Only takes one Luke Mcormack type accident to occur because of this bone idle activity. Always surprises me parking on the central reservation over the A500 from the Michelin to the incinerator never gets picked up. It's a chuckle watching the artic drivers swing through the lights and get blocked by some split arse who's determined not to lose her space because she's already in for a shit night with her fella after Stoke have lost.

Will they be neglecting other crime duties though? To be honest this as been going on for for years and wanted nipping in the bud years ago not on the final game of the season

I can imagine the outcry when someone does get hurt or a crash means people are queuing longer to get away......the authorities are pretty much damned whatever they do. I just don't get why people think it's their right to ignore the law, but then I am a goody two shoes.😉

Need a similar operation coming off the A500 near the Michelin. With a special mention to those who stop to park on a grass verge round a very tight completely blind bend coming off a 50mph dual carriageway and those who sit waiting on the roundabout completely stopping the traffic until they've picked their mate up.

Ultimately the club and council need to look at the chronic lack of parking facilities and look at some groundbreaking (for us) park and ride (maybe with a purpose built fan park?) facilities at one of the many brown field sites in and around the city.

Its a really fuckwitted thing to do to stop there and its good that there will be enforcement.
The laws of the road don't get temporarily withdrawn or revoked just because its football.

Doesn't address the actual problem though really does it. It happens because its massively more convenient, and from next season there's going to be a couple thousand more milling around also needing to get home after games.
A lot of the early leaving and this are down to the fact its still horrendous after games getting away if you aren't out lightning fast, jumping into a car and getting on your way.

What is an example of a good ground to get to, park and get away from? (Not London grounds where trains are frequent and close by so not comparable) Only that I go to more away games than home games and I find the Brit one of the easiest and cheapest (free) to access. I should add that I don't mind parking a mile or so away and walking, it only takes 20 minutes and if you plonk you car in the direction you want to get away in you are off to a flyer, no traffic jams at all. Perhaps if you have the need to fall out of your motor car in to your seat then its different but I'm not being funny name another ground that regularly houses nearly 30,000 people that is easier to get to and away from ?

Dunelm has a huge, virtually empty car park. Could a local charity persuade them to allow use on match days? People would pay a few pounds if it were for charity.

The Brit and the road infrastructure it is a shit show, as is the distinct lack of parking facilities. But people shouldn't be dropping off on an A road for fuck sake.

No it doesn't address the problem. The problem is that some people are just selfish and irresponsible but how do you address that?

This has been discussed before, but unfortunately it is a nightmare in terms of public liability issues opening up a company carpark to the general public. And that's why most of the big companies around the stadium refuse to do so...I know a few do, but for most it is just too much hassle...Sad really, cuz as you say they could turn a few quid easily...

Perhaps those being dropped off are late because they were delayed burgling someones house, threatening the householder with a knife before stealing their stash of drugs! Good policing strategy I'd say.
