Got to love the bloke.
In response to going on Piers Morgans show;
"Are you joking me,go on there and talk to that cnut,I don't do that shit".
The 'Modfather'. Priceless.

When the old rock bands like the Stones and The Who finish, promotors will pay Weller stupid money to get The Jam together for a tour. Watch this space!

I loved the raw energy of the Jam but he seemed to lose his way badly after that.
He is still pushing out records believe it or not some people are still buying them but I've mentally clocked out.

Never been a big fan of him. Liked some of the jam stuff, but the style council and his solo stuff bored me to tears. Always seems to look smug to me.

I like the Weller Fella, integral to Red Wedge and that. Does loads to champion new music.. Tame Impala and that. Done some great post Jam stuff... Long Hot Summer, You're the Best thing, etc as the Style Council. Sunflower, Broken Stones, the Uh Oh album, Stanley Road, Wildwood and all that stuff is mint. As Chuffed said you can pick and chooose, there are loads of cherries. His Jam stuff alone puts him in high regard imo. Always just out of the 'scenes', Jam were more mod than punk, they blurred the boundaries/rules. He's always been like a low rent Woking Bowie, musical magpie picking apart and borrowing from The Beatles and Steve Marriot. Adding a bit of dystopian anger. Liked his recent Wake Up the Nation stuff. {Reminds me of the 80's band Sid Presley Experience/Godfathers.
Havn't seen his recent hair do.

Never really liked him much for some reason, also get him semi mixed up with Jools Holland who I'm sure is a very nice chap but who I absolutely can't stand, not sure why.

Agree with the Jools stance. He's a plinky plonky whiny smug southern geezer, that's why I'm not much for him. It'd be a good show if it wasn't for him and his random outbursts of unnecessary honky tonk.

I have always been a big fan of Wellers from The Jam days,which, imho is his best stuff. Style Council was too big a change of direction for me even though some good tunes came from that period. Loving his solo career,especially the early albums. Seen him in concert a few times,the last time at Viccy Hall a couple of years ago and despite his age he can still put a good show on. So many to choose from.... Oh,and just a reminder,his new album is out tomorrow.

'Wishing on a star' by Weller is on the jukebox as we speak. Far more smiles than frowns. Mint tune.

Loved The Jam even as as big metal fan. Found the solo stuff a classic example of boring dad rock mind. Bruce Foxton, what a criminally underrated bass player. Local covers band, The Rude Boys do a lot of Jam.
