What league are they in next? Anywhere near the Women's Super League or whatever it's called these days?

Stoke loyalties aside, that's one of the best football photos you'll see all season.

It was like the MLS until 2013 though. So our first team are in the one under WSL2 I think. And if the wiki page is right, are third. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_football_in_England

Just read a bit of that and I'm still a bit baffled. Oh well fair play to them anyway.... Yeah it's not very well set up. But I think it's there to protect the ones who are more established and have the backing. I would love to know if there are any plans for us to buy Community Drive where they play. Norton had a nightmare with the coal board who own it and then folded I think, so it wouldn't be easy. But it'd be a great little purchase. Right in the heart of enemy territory, a good ground and it could be used for the u23s as well.

Is the time right for our club to actually recognise the girls and maybe a bit of investment too

The club do now invest in the ladies set up and the reserves who are heavily made up with girls who have come up through Stoke Centre of Excellence have had a superb end to the season winning the last eight games scoring 27 and conceding just 3. Doesn't stop the likes of Man City poaching the best as soon as they are old enough to step up to open age football. Stoke have also done it the right way using a reserve squad of 26 players whereas Leicester have used a squad of 48 players, playing most of their first team to try and win the reserve league - Full credit should go to the coaching staff at Stoke!

Fantastic result. I've been following from a far and there has been some delightful football being played. Man City is an abhorrent part of the league. The effectively bought their way into the top table without actually qualifying during the restructuring so other teams (I think it was Yeovil ladies) were not promoted despite actually qualifying. Keep going Stoke Ladies... amazing team and staff!

We do get one or two players each year who come back to us after a year with one of the 'big' clubs, would be nice to be able to keep them from day 1 though. Claudia Walker came through Stoke C of E and is now doing very well with Everton and scoring goals for England U23
