Labour did badly as well, just shows how easy the General Election will be, Labour under Corbynski are just completely in the wilderness, which is not good for anyone, as every Government, whether it is Tory, Labour, Monster Raving Looney, needs a strong tangiable opposition to keep it in check. History has shown our worst days politically have been when the Government of the day can ride roughshod over Parliament and do what the hell they want, completely unchecked. Even under Maggie the Tories made some bad policies, cuz they had no opposition, and the idiot Bliar did the same.

The real issue is that the UKIP ideology has won, even if the vehicle that it rode in on has outlived its usefulness. The Tories have very much absorbed UKIP in the same way The Tea Party imposed its doctrines into the Republicans in the States. It's scary.

There's some truth in that, but there are many (possibly a majority) former UKIP supporters that had almost nothing in common with its policies other than wanting to get out of Europe.

He's saying everything he should. Problem is Shanghai, nobody wants what Jeremy is offering because he has already been annihilated by a complicit media, venomous personal attacks and outright lies about his past and his character. The same happened to Ed Miliband and it will be the same for whoever comes next. So you're never going to get strong opposition under the current media stranglehold that Tory HQ have. They'll shout anyone down and are prepared to say anything, however dishonest, to achieve this. We simply have to wait for the younger generation to become the majority because figures suggest that Labour is streets ahead in the under 40 populous and don't swallow the BS as easily as the older folk who are sadly out of touch.

He cannot undo nor has he attempted to undo his extremely left and terrorist loving past. The public don't need the media to remember this. And how is Jeremy a terrorist, or a terrorist sympathiser? By your method of analysis you'd have to accuse Tony Blair of being the same. Nah, it just suits your dimbulb agenda which is basically undermine, question the character, spin the lies.

The Conservatives have taken UKIP's ideological and rhetorical ground, so why would people still vote for them? Why would the UKIPs support an nasty, morally bankrupt, bombastic right-wing nationalist party with no chance of winning when they can now support an nasty, morally bankrupt, bombastic right-wing nationalist party that's almost guaranteed to win?

I think you're in for a shock. People my age (late 20s) tend to be quite left-wing but the sub-generation below, basically kids born around or after the millennium, are becoming increasingly conservative and right-wing. Kids are attracted to what's cool, at some points in history it's cool to be left but right now the far-left are as faggoty as can be whereas the right are coming across (rightly or wrongly) as the cool option.

You may well be correct FYD, but does that make it right? It's called democracy people choose who they want to govern, because of his own desire to beat his brother Ed Miliband has left the Labour party with a system that guarantees the 3 pounder pick an unelectable leader and will continue to do so.

UKIP took a battering 'cos their job was done, they got us out of Europe. They should have disbanded straight afterwards.
Labour took a battering 'cos they're completely out-of-touch with the real world & the common man on the street. Labour lost millions of voters to UKIP when Labour completely ignored the issues they raised. Now that UKIP have gone all these millions of voters should be flooding back to a Labour party that learnt it's lesson. Instead Labour have pig-headedly told those millions of voters they're wrong again, and have instead lurched even further to the left, thus losing those millions of voters for years to come... Some of them even doing the unthinkable & voting Tory instead!

Thankfully through the Blair years the populace has become wise to baseless or ill thought out promises. Everyone who is old enough to understand what Blair did can see straight through Corbyn.

It's such a terrible argument and Blair is the real reason the Labour party is broken.

My use of "far-left" in the post quoted was a deliberate differentiation, just as right and far-right are very different things. I do believe that the very young are more conservative and right-wing than than those a decade older though, and I do think this can be directly attributed to the gross actions and displays of the far-left in recent years. Clearly these people don't represent someone like you, I know that, but their words and actions will harm the entire left regardless.
