We're down next season, I'm not having an attack of the biscuits either, we're finished. Keep the faith lad ...although it is looking pretty grim Just imagine: first game of the season, Chelsea at home (random game against good opposition)... Grant (Butland gone to Citeh) Johnson Ryan Bruno Pieters Cameron Adam Walters (Shaq gone to a continental club) Allen Arnie Berahino We're fucked Sobhi, N'Goy, Verlinden ..... Maybe he's getting back up squad players sorted before selling a number of current 1st team players. Then a couple of new players to improve on what we have got Or at the absolute worst case scenario, ( still mathematically possible) championship football 😳

I really thought he would have gone to a championship team like Bristol / Cardiff or Forrest, really bloody surprised if it's true...!!!!! But wéve done it before with other players.. He won't be the last...!!!!!!!

Everyone thinking "Hughes out our rebuild the squad"... This is it. This Stoke being forward thinking. For the first time in his second run in charge- I'm really starting to question Coates. Do they really think we can survive another season of this wanker by resigning all the old lags that have been around since the dawn of time? Is it because they've had to put their hand in their pocket to make the stadium a bit less shit?
Fucking wank Stoke. We're going down next season if this is the best we can come up with.

More proof that Hughes' brain is definitely mashed. What the actual fuck is the rationale behind this?

If Ireland does get another year along with the Johnson , I'm going to be well fucked off...😡
Right !... I'm fucking off to watch the Celta v The Shit match.......

Not sure they have all that much credibility in the first place mate. They do get a few things right, but in recent times more wrong. I'm not saying it isn't true, but I'd lean on the side of caution with them. This one is different mate They've stated what they think is fact and not just a rumour so they've gone out on a limb That is true mate, will be interesting to see what happens on a few levels.

I wasn't even in favour of that with Wilko or Mama. If it's entirely, mainly, or even partly a sentimental move, not sure if it's defensible for a bloke who's been on eye-watering money for a decade He had a horrific leg break, one that has caused him psychological damage or so I've heard. Maybe it is just a simple case of the club doing what they think is right by a player. IF that's the case I won't knock them for that, if it's not then it's baffling..... I doubt that he will be in our nominated squad of 25, maybe out on loan once he is fit enough?

Let's go mental when we know what is happening shall we?
If it's a playing contract it is ridiculous in the extreme.
It won't be though

Probably the best number 10 we had but never played so don't see the point.
The board have clearly told Hughes he can stay but there's no money to spend.

IF this is true then equates to the Coates family saying we have ticked a box re giving Premiership football back to the City but it is time to move on Their perogative of course, but none of this equates to building a legacy if true

He's probably on a smaller wage and the club are helping him back rather than just ditching him.
We are supposed to be a caring club which looks after its players after all.

Yep...thinking about it I honestly think slp have jumped the gun and made a story out of nothing to gain a bit of a scoop ...I doubt it'll be a squad place contract I reckon it's a reduced terms fitness contract Let's see eh

IMHO it's to support the player. He can get back to fitness and play in the league cup and in January perhaps move on?

25 league games first season 17 in second season 13 in third 0 this Spot the trend. He's played less each season. How will he manage to play minus 0 games?

He is a MULTI MILLIONAIRE That's not the point suffolk you don't just ditch a player when he has suffered such a traumatic injury whilst training with us. If he is still in rehab and there is still a chance of him coming back it is only right to keep him on board until it is known if he can carry on with his career. To just let him fend for himself and be looking for another club to help him with rehab would make the club look bad and no doubt upset his friends in the squad.

25 league games first season 17 in second season 13 in third 0 this Spot the trend. This is a smart move by Stoke. New contract heavily reliant on appearance fees...but next season he'll play like minus 13 games and have to pay money back to the club.

Unreal. I don't see next season being much different than this, to be honest. Dull, grinding, survivalist humpball.

I just can't get my head around it though (the notion not your opinion). I don't get why well paid blokes over their time here need our help once their contract is up. They sure as shit wouldn't help the club similarly. I don't get where this loyalty to them comes from.
