As much as I like Arnie and Shaq, I can't help thinking we would. At times it's like we are trying to score the perfect goal all the time.
Even decent teams thrive on early crosses. Against WH Shaq had a chance to get past his man and get a cross in but he decided to cut in again and lost all momentum. I really think this is why we don't score many goals, or at least part of it.
I'd like to see a genuine, pacy direct winger as an alternative to Shaq and Arnie. I think we are putting all our eggs in one basket relying on two very talented but flawed wide men.

No.
They're the only players we have with an ounce of creativity. If those two left we would be right in the shitter.

We would score 50 times more with a decent forward midfielder or No. 9, like the one we have in Germany. Ohh and a Striker who could actually get shots on target from a midfield working up to them. But yea, it's the wingers...

Off day for him.

Yes. That's the main issue.
Having proper quick wingers who can beat a man would improve the squad massively.

Wing backs are the present. And maybe the future. Leave a team less exposed than relying on attacking fullbacks for the width.

not sure its them , its the tempo of the team , both can do it but if we got the ball to them earlier and looked to hit the box quicker we would i think score more the crouch goal v Hull said it all

Wingers cutting inside is OK as long as you've got pacy attacking fullbacks, who can overlap and deliver crosses .......

I think the answer to the original questions is "could we possibly score fewer?" Certainly not away from home.

I was getting pissed off at shaq so many times on sat he was one on one with the fullback and never once run him down the line, he kept running inside to a back 3 waiting for him. the only times we looked dangerous is when we got down the side and behind them.

We wouldn't score more goals even if the opposition team started without a keeper.

We rely far too much on crosses. It's too ad hoc and random. Our forward play needs more precision. Indeed,we're almost back fully,to the days of launching aerial balls/crosses into the box and "hoping something drops.." to use TP's phrase,as our dominant attacking tactic.Furthermore, can't see the wisdom in upping the number of crosses we put into the penalty area when one of Berahino's acknowledged weaknesses is heading the ball.

Nothing wrong with cutting inside, provided also that you also take the man on the outside, and also provided you have practised with your main striker and know where the main striker wants the ball.
Cross after cross, pass after pass is delayed slowing the play down
