Sorry this is so late, life got in the way.
We managed not to lose and we managed to nullify West Ham's threat - admittedly not a miassive one, but I'd be hypocritcal not praising Sparky for the improvement so he gets plus points there. I'm struggling to see many more pluses tho, we really did look a tired and depressed team who've run out of ideas. Which has to mean a finger pointing at the manager.
If I'd left the ground feeling much hope the mark would prob have been higher, as it is I honestly can't do better than:
5*

5*
We should have lost, let's not pretend otherwise.
Phil Bardsley must be wondering what the holy fuck he needs to do, to dislodge Glen 'I've totally forgotten how to play football' Johnson.
It was like groundhog day again, today; turgid, pedestrian, bilge, against a shit side, no penetration, disjointed.

It was like groundhog day again, today; turgid, pedestrian, bilge, against a shit side, no penetration, disjointed. Just how exactly should we have lost? We dominated for long periods. There keeper made some great saves... as ours as to be fair. But we were the better side without doubt

7. I actually enjoyed the game. On any other day we would have won 4. Only one team wanted win today and that was us.

6.5 for today, we were unlucky in front of goal but boy do we need pace in midfield.
If he plays Shaq in the middle of a 3, when he can pass both to the left and right, PLUS feeding through balls to Saido, whilst having Sobhi and Arnie out wide, then things will click......

This was not one of Hughes's worst days as there were no screamingly obvious tactical blunders, but it was more an accumulation of his incompetence over many months. We were ponderous and predictable, and completely lacking in confidence, especially in front of goal. The game got duller and duller as it went on. 5*

Starting that midfield 3 at home was just criminal.
Glen Johnson is an absolute joke.
Not starting Ramadan is shocking, not bringing him on was a crime.
Crouch on? Against Reid, Fonte and Collins. Really?
Just boring and lucky to get a point.

6* from me. I enjoyed the game but not the result. First half we weren't very good but second half we were much better. Some chances missed at both ends but some great 'keeping at both ends, too.
I don't do a 'Bayern' and look for all the negatives. Some good performances too. Whelan was my MOM, but I won't argue that Jack got it. He looked as though he had never been injured. My Player of the Season is Grant, but today I realised just how good a top keeper really is. And I'm sure Grant will have to doff his cap and admit that Hughes was right to bring Butland back.
Either side could have won it but neither had the break that was needed to do so. We were better than we were against Burnley, but without the individual moments of brilliance that won us that game.
I'd sum the game up as 'frustrating'. If somebody can work out how to get the best out of these players then we would be a much better side. Hughes is most definitely struggling to do that.
OS.

6 Some positives. Shaq was excellent as were Jack and Whelan. I also thought Berahino looked much better. Cracking effort when forced out wide in the second half.
Allen however should never be our most advanced midfielder and the constant omission of Sobhi is bewildering.
Hughes does not know how to get the best out of his players

6* I've seen a lot worse at home. Shaq played well, as did Muni and got to see Jack keep a clean sheet. What worries me is what's the plan for next season when better teams come. For that matter, what's the plan for the Arse?..

Hughes has a cunning plan, as cunning as a fox who is the professor of cunning at Oxford University. * Three points to Arsenal then!

7* Almost, nearly, not quite , frustrating. Players did want to win. Dull at the end. Hughes was hoping Adam could pass to crouchy, for crouchy to score. 6* from me. 4.*
Whelan did well first half Jack had good game. But we huffed and puffed again without seriously threatening to score.
I always look forward to the scum gooner game at home but I must admit I'm a bit fearful this season. The end can't come quick enough so I can begin the process of getting over such a lacklustre season by immersing myself into the diy list of jobs.

4 We are too slow
Any well organised side can get themselves back into shape in the time it takes us to launch an attack
Apparently According to mark hughes the way to deal with this problem is to keep sobhi and diouf out of the side and anyone who can't see that's the best way forward is clueless

The team was picked correctly overall, dropped Pieters and went back to old formation. Subs were really poor though. 6.5 is about right, players need take responsibility too.

4 from me
But the rating that matters will come from the better available players at the end of the season.
When west Brom west ham Everton Southampton and stoke all offer the same player top money to join them. We will get the true verdict on whether hughes knows what he's doing or not

5*. Butland fantastic, thought Behraino looked good, Whelan had a good first half and Arnie had a good second half. Shaq would have been better if he didn't keep falling over. Trouble is that we looked slow and tired and still can't understand why Ramadan can't get a game.

*5.5, I think.
He picked the right team, really. And I think that 4-2-3-1 is the formation that suits us. He finally dropped Pieters (which should have happened a long time ago).
But it only confirmed in my mind that Joe Allen isn't an attacking midfielder, and the only genuine one we have is currently in Germany. It increasingly looks like the decision to give Johnson a new contract was a mistake. And, most baffling of all, Ramadan Sobhi spent the entire match on the bench.

8* Picked 3 in midfield instead of 442 gets him to 10, minus one for it being Cameron Allen and Whelan, no creativity, minus one for crouch and Adam. We were passing well and needed more flair, not more physicality.
Much improved thanks to the loss of 442 but we really need some creativity in midfield.
At the minute it's just the TP cage, but with 3 instead of 2 to cover for how slow Whelan is.
