Yes we probably are but that's football. We move on and try to get better. The problem is though this manager won't go and get better players He didn't do bad with Grant.

Unless we suddenly turn into a top 4 club, which is unlikely especially with no-Sparky in charge, we were never going to keep Jack for long.
The fact he's come straight back into the team showing the form he has is testament to his talent.
We might get one more season, if we're lucky.

Do you really think that we could negotiate a 20m plus transfer fee with you know who in charge, try a twix and a bag of Nik naks and you're closer to the fee.

The top teams already have good keepers we should be ok for now. De Gea to Madrid Liverpool have 2 shit GK's Man City (see Liverpool) Chelsea are solid Tottenham are solid Everton may dabble if their backer pumps some money in and they want to challenge Arsenal, Cech is getting on Jack could be number 1 at any "big" club, including in Europe!

Everybody can see Jack's destined for the top.
Another brilliant signing by Pulis (the Pulis haters don't need to list the duds, we already know them).
Maybe Joe Hart plus £20M, if Man City come knocking.

I'm not sure that Jack is the 'sweeper keeper' type that Guardiola favours but he will, without doubt, be at a top 4 club in the not too distant future.

Man city won't buy him, they want a goalkeeper with feet like Messi. Arsenal fine for now taken 20years find a decent keeper. He will go, but we got at least another 12 months and should get a good fee since he's got a long contract.

If the same Jack Butland was moving from, say, Chelsea or Man United, what do you think he'd cost?

I think they'll be circling this summer, hoping that his season out might knock his fee down a bit.
I think he'll stay...until the end of next season. I hope we get a proper fee, for the first time in our history!

We were 8th, unbeaten at the Brit for twelve months but with Huth, Shawcross, N'Zonzi, Crouch and Wilson all injured. A young keeper and American Artist didn't quite cut it recruitment wise. I saw his point at the time, but didn't enjoy the aftermath much. The rest is history etc.

Match of the day did their best to big him up, I could see a couple of teams sniffing this summer, not sue if one of the boys is ready to take the plunge yet. There is no doubt in my mind he is the best English keeper.
If he goes for say 20 plus mil this summer, we should look at pickford.
But I would rather keep Butland for as long as possible.

He will be here next season. If he performs to his full potential next year then that will probably be his last with us.

Coincidently I said yesterday I wonder what odds you could get for Butland going and Bego coming back.

Butland was worth 10 points to us last season in my view. Granty has been fine, but Jack has a presence in goal that Grant simply doesn't possess.
He'll be off at some stage, it's just a matter of when.

Butland is a top keeper, he has mental attributes that you cannot teach, his interviews reveal a mature head. He will need to move on to fulfil his potential but we have got all the i's dotted and the t's crossed in the contract to ensure we get value for money....I hope.

We've got one more year from butland then he'll leave for 30m.
We need the same future proofing foresight we showed when we signed butland and with that, we should offer Sunderland the 8m or so it would take to get Jordan Pickford.

Yea, i cant see him being with us long term. But punting him might not be that bad, his value is probably sky high. However I don't trust us to get a good price for him. We let n'zonzi and Bego leave for £8 mil each. Poor business really

He didn't do bad with Grant. True but it took him 3 attempts to get a decent back up Tbf one of those wasn't him and Given wasn't the worst idea in the world but I get your point, not that I think Hughes will be here to replace him anyway the way things are going.

He'll be here with us next season and if he performs to his potential he'll get a move to a Champions League team, which I'd have no problem with, as long as we get £30m.

Our woeful transfer negotiating team should have at least one year to get some negotiation training before the bidding starts for Jack. Let's hope for once we get top value for our biggest asset. I have a hunch we may be disappointed.

As long as he is completely fit after his problem, he is at this moment in time the jewel in our crown. Hopefully he will be with us next season, but I have no doubt that the greedy big boys will be after him. He, if and when he goes, must not be sold cheaply.

Not sure why Jack would go to City just to be Claudio Bravo's number 2.
He's already better.
