Outrageous home record. Good football. Out of contract end of this year.
Let's go. Balls deep. 👍🏼

Why would he come here?

He'd definitely be on anyone's shortlist this summer, but not sure he'd come.
His star seems to be rising dramatically and he may be set for bigger things. He was being linked with Inter Milan last week

He is the type we need someone who has passion and motivates his players and can pick a player and not sign duds for too much money

The chance to manage a club with stability and some class players (potentially) ahead of a move to a big club is surely attractive to him.

Someone who shows a bit of urgency when we're 2-0 against a wank team away from home, instead of when we're 1-0 and comfortable at home. Hughes' lack of subs set the impression that he just gives up when we concede a second.

problem is if hughes goes , whoever comes in has the problem of getting rid of the garbage we have on the books, plus attracting decent players to sign for us .

Hull had the worst squad in the league by a country mile when he took over, he managed to completely transform the team in the space of one transfer window.

We have a lot of good players, but somebody needs to pick our best players and motivate them! Our fullbacks need replacing though and that immediately!

His management record is pretty impressive
2011-2012 - took Estoril (ground capacity 8000) to Portuguese 2nd div championship 2012-2013 - finished 5th in top portuguese league and qualified for Europa League 2013-2014 - finished 4th in portuguese league and qualified for Europa League 2014-2015 - left Estoril for Sporting, finished 3rd and won the cup but was sacked at the end of season for not wearing a club suit 2015-2016 - joins olympiacos and starts season with 17 wins on the spin but leaves for personal reasons at end of season Jan 2017 - joins hull who were
Looks like the sort of bloke who gets results but 2 weird management endings

Big Baz from Rhyl anyone? 1000 hours on football manager, can also eat 12 hotdogs in 4 minutes without chewing
I'd take a tampon with a smiley face drawn on it over Hughes right now tbh

He is red and white, i also think he might be a bit more charismatic so yeah, worryingly i don't think we'd perform any worse

I am starting to think this guy is the most solid candidate and would definitely be worth a discreet enquiry, now he's got these 6 months under his belt to see the Premier League lie of the land. Obviously a danger in going for the shiniest, new thing (a la Poyet and Martinez in 2013), but hard to ignore what he's doing at Hull. Still think he may have his eyes locked onto something bigger than us with his reputation soaring.... www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/04/14/marco-silva-people-should-have-done-homework/

Either Paul clement or Marco Silva would be a good shout IF Hughes leaves. One of them should be available

Well what does Peter Coates want? There doesn't really seem to be much of a long term plan for the club when we're giving new contracts to the likes of Glen Johnson and Peter Crouch so why does there have to be a long term vision with a managerial appointment? Stepping stones appointments haven't done Southampton much harm.
