I'd be more surprised if he stayed fit

I don't know where this type of shit comes from, when fit he is influential in games the vast majority of times he plays. Granted he can be a bit of a passenger when we're constantly under the cosh but in those circumstances you need a plan to get out from under not simply strip all flair from the team and replace it with graft. His fitness has been a major ball ache but we're a far better side to watch with him than without him and results confirm its not just aesthetic.

Yeah, he'll be involved in chance creating more than likely.

Yeah, he'll be involved in chance creating more than likely. We're a totally different proposition with him on the pitch. I think him being unfit for so many games has been a major contributor to our season being so dull.

He has featured in 16 league games this year, we have won 7, drawn 5 and lost 4, earning 26 points or 1.6 points per game. In the other 17 games he has missed we have collected 13 points or less than 0.8 points per game. We have scored 24 goals in his 16 games and only 13 in the other 17. We are twice as successful when he plays so the question is will he play not will he perform, if he is fit we will do better than without him, hard to doubt he is our most important player

But I agree, we are much better with Shaq than without him and even if he never did another thing I'm thrilled I have seen him in a Stoke City shirt!

Yes what we and everybody else wants is class but durable players. Maybe players should receive a bonus when they actually play. Something like appearance money. They may already receive a payment but I don't know.

I think you'll find he's been instrumental in most of those games we've garnered points in but its a moot point anyway the more weapons you have in your team whether they have an influential game or not the more likely that one or more of them will do something pivotal. We've spent far to much of this season looking toothless with Arnie as our only real weapon and the others needing somebody to make something happen for them which just hasn't happened often enough. In short you need as many players in your team who can hurt the opposition as you can manage whilst maintaining a balance with graft. We've been very much graft over flair this season its been soul destroying to watch considering the initial progress Hughes made in that regard.

I am sure I watch a different game to most on here, I hope the lad is fit for Saturday as we are definitely a better side with him than without him but a run of form..........really!!
A run of 2 games yes and it is good to see this with his medically challenged chequered history since signing but.........
a run of form not a chance, a couple of assists which you would expect a player in his position to be supplying and a worldy of a goal but other than the goal no more than bang average for the last 2 games he has been back,

We'll release the shackles on Saturday and batter Swansea. It will be like the footballing equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters, Arnie and Shaqiri showing their armery of tricks, with Sobhi finally being able to bring out his "standing on the ball whilst appearing to be moving trick"
Swansea 1 Stoke City 5. They'll be releasing a DVD a few days later.....

True but those stats allow some degrees of freedom to still be pretty powerful. he can shoot, see a pass, execute a pass, dribble and cross better than everyone else which is a reasonable starting point

To be fair, his stats don't really do him justice. He has created so many more chances that haven't been converted...he just can't stay fit long enough to have the full impact that we so desperately need. I really do believe that with Shaq fit we will soon see goals from Saido. My fingers are well and truly crossed...probably explains all the typos!
