I completely forgot there is still the FA Cup to be played. I fondly imagine they just cancel it when we go out

It's beneath them now. But plenty of them know a cup semi has been beyond their wildest dreams for most of the last 40 years.

Not being funny but Sunday Semi Final, late in the day, with already pretty full train services,on the London Marathon weekend..Yup, FA Cup: The People's Cup my arse Said exactly the same. Man City are getting a right kicking from smug wealthy pricks in the media, despite the fact some ivory tower egg heads at the FA decided it would be clever to have a Semi Final late on a Sunday at a ground over 200 miles away from one of the clubs involved. The fact they host the semis at Wembley is down to the fact the FA fucked up over Wembley and are desperately trying to get some money. Not Man City fans fault, is it? There are 3 London clubs in the semis, so naturally the FA make it most inconvenient for the one Northern club who are travelling over 200 miles to get there. It's an absolute joke and while clubs of London benefit, northern clubs like us get screwed.

I agree with you mate.. But im just saying that its supposed to be a massive fan base? Spurs support should be interesting next year at Wembley. 36.000 capacity at home now to 80.000 at Wembley? Fair few extra fans to find ?

Away allocation should be interesting ? Pointless giving just 10.000 away allocation if they only getting about 60 thousand. But that's what I think it will be. 10.000 minimum because of the Wembley attraction.

City have long had a great core of support especially given the hype their near neighbours attract. Their gates were incredibly good when they were outside the top division. Yes they may have attracted the inevitable group of glory hunters but at heart they are a club with a loyal base, not sure much to criticise

The core fanbase they do have, however, have been completely hung out to dry in my opinion.

The simple solution would be the one the FA would never ever consider as it would leave their coffers emptier & would look like in the face of it, not milking Wembley for what it's worth....
...2 semi finals at neutral grounds. Nostalgia eh?

My guess is they will say bollox to it and have it at Wembo anyway Can't tell if you're being sarcastic, but seriously, this is exactly what they will do. If Spurs get to a semi, and they're put in a position, they will simply decide that Spurs play there, but the allocation is the same as this season. They will argue that home advantage doesn't count because the allocations are the same or some utter dog shit.

They need to make a North Wembley (and not that vale park shit), a real stadium in Manchester for just this scenario then flip a coin for semis fucking disgusting favoritism there.

That's the only problem with supporting a big team....it must cost a fortune, continually being in cup competitions as well as the league!!!

the semi final should never be at wembley. it should be at villa or somewhere in the midlands. I'm going on sunday, but can barely afford it tbh. we dont have a rich fan base and we rely on our core support - we dont have thousands of tourists going every week like untied or liverpool. we've sold nearly 32,000 tickets for this, so its not exactly embarrassing.

Yes it cheapens the cup final experience.

I'm surprised as I know a number of Man City fans who were desperate to get Final tickets in 2011 - I accept that watching your team in lots of competitions, lots of additional games may mean prioritising them. Somehow Coventry City managed to take 45,000 fans to Wembley for the Checkatrade final a few weeks ago ! They won't get anything like that for their league matches Out of interest how much are the semi final tickets? Good luck, hope you get to the final and take your full allocation

When Cardiff stepped up to host finals during the Wembley rebuild the FA should have kept the semis there.
1. Provides a massive capacity at a neutral ground 2. No real advantage to any team (unless Cardiff or Swansea get thee)
And more importantly 3 keeps the final special
The Fa Were too fucking greedy though

If the semi is between, lets say Liverpool & Newcastle then it's just as pointless sending them to Cardiff as it is to Wembley, just hold it at Hillsbrough or Elland Road, even Old Trafford. If it's between Chelsea & Tottenham then hold it at Arsenal, makes no sense to send them all the way to Cardiff. Basically have a bunch of places on stand-by at the start of the competiton, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff & a couple in London, then wait till the semi-final draw & pick the ground which makes the most logical sense.

The problem has always been the massive cost of building the new Wembley...well over the odds, especially when you see what Cardiff got for a fraction of the money. Now the FA have to pimp it out for any and everything to try and pay off the debt
