I'm so happy that you left before Shaqiri's goal! Serves you all right! I have noticed recently a lot of fans are leaving the match at around the 75th minute and find it slightly ridiculous. When we were 2-1 down against Liverpool it probably didn't send the best message to the players to see a half empty stadium with 15 minutes to go. If its because of the manager, then you should at least stay to give the players support as you are 'fans' of the football club.

Each to their own. Only those who left can say whether they'd have stayed if they'd known what was going to happen. We got to see the goal. They got home in time to do whatever it was they needed to get home to do.
People do seem to be leaving earlier at the moment though. I blame the scoreboard being removed. People have no idea how long there is to go.

Stop moaning, at least it makes it easier for those that stay to the end, to get out and walk away from the stadium a lot quicker!

They're making the same assumption. It was probably 5 past when they kicked off the second half, so they're all leaving 5 minutes sooner than they would do normally.

If we all left together I think I'd be stuck in the ground until midnight. I'd miss me bus and all sorts.
Good on 'em.

It takes me long enough to get out of a half empty stadium. I can even take Penguin Alley at a run rather than a waddle at the minute as well.

I will never understand why people who come to watch games leave early! To me in most cases the last minutes are often the most exciting ones, and I also feel the players should get a good round of applause after a good game! We are supposed to be the fans! I accept other opinions about this, but I also hope you can accept my take on it!

They add on that much injury time it's a joke. For each half that is, so even if you leave on 80 mins you could miss nearly 20 minutes of the game. If you added 1.45 on 3 o'clock you may be leaving 5 mins before 80mins because of the first half added time so now you could be missing 30 mins of the game.

I've got no problem with people leaving early, I'd never do it myself as the one time I nearly did, I was on the stairs and Marcus Hall scored a last minute winner against Derby, rolled my ankle celebrating and the lesson was learnt!

The fans who arrive late, get up from their seats during play seem exempt from any criticism- what's the difference?

The fans who arrive late, get up from their seats during play seem exempt from any criticism- what's the difference? The ones who arrive late may have been unavoidably delayed? Folk getting up from their seats during play because they need a piss? I sit right near the end, doesn't really bother me, I barely notice getting up for folk to be honest. Can't be great for the players walking around showing their appreciation to a half empty stadium. My take on it anyway, if people have a train to catch or have to go to work or summat then fairy nuff.

Well, we haven't had one of these threads for a while!
I always wonder if those that moan about people leaving early are the same ones who always take their seats 10 minutes after the game's kicked off because they had to squeeze in an extra pint. Serve 'em right if they missed Arnie's opener!

My guess is a lot leave to avoid long delays.
Has there ever been any proposals to improve the routes away from the ground such as a direct one way link off the "estate" to the Queensway for example?

LOOK AT ME AND HOW GOOD A FAN I AM!!! LOOK AT ME!!!
I usually stay to the end but totally respect people who don't want to stuck in a fuckton of traffic, although I usually park on the holiday inn, which is good for getting out and dead close

There was a bloke used to work on my place, always went 10mins early "to beat the traffic". He only friggin' lived in Heron Cross!!!
The amount of goals he missed was unreal, but he still carried on going early.
Just out of interest, who leaves the cinema 10mins before the film ends,so that they can avoid the traffic?
