7 we created a lot of chances and could have scored at least 3 more goals. He got the subs spot on . Against Swansea i would start with Crouch and Walters.

Original Plan B (3 at the back) became Plan A, which worked for about 15 minutes and then collapsed allowing Hull back into the game. So the new Plan B, which was the original Plan A (4-2-3-1) was rescurected after 60 minutes and it worked. So what really is his Plan A and backup Plan B?
Exciting game, great goals. Hull were poor and just about any plan would have worked. At one point Crouch and Walters had a conference in the middle of the pitch while the ball was in play, apparently to figure out what to do because Hughes forgotten to tell them.
7*

Thought we were good for the first 20 minutes and then we went to pieces, f*** knows why as they were abysmal. Wasn't happy with the subs but Hughes was right and we looked like a different team when they came on. Three fantastic goals and Shaq showed he can turn a game for us and next season we really do need him fit to have any chance of moving on up the league. 8* from me.

Overall I enjoyed the game. Hull are fighting for their lives and caused us problems. They deserved to draw level. Credit to Hughes who could see it wasn't going our way and made the subs. We played much better and scored three good goals and everyone was happy. (well almost everyone according to this thread) So 8 from me.

10. The team he went with started bright and really we should have been 4 up by half time. Hull came back into it through a comedy of errors on our part but Hughes changed it and we won the game. It's hard to knock him at all IMO Agree

Why we started with a formation which suits none of our players is beyond me. Still, we got going much more quickly than Hull and took the lead. After that, they gradually got into the game, exploiting the huge spaces that our formation created, and their equalising goal had been coming for a while. Hughes should have changed things at half time (as a sharper manager did the week before) so that he was proactive rather than reactive. At one all, Hull were on top and Hughes's score would have been 3 or 4 from most people. As others have said, it was the change in formation rather than in personnel that really made the difference though it was a good idea to take off two players who continually broke down our moves. So a rare positive use of subs which led to two good goals, but let's not forget what came before. 6*

Although I wouldn't have made the subs exactly as he did he did manage the subs to move Muniesa in to midfield in place of Adam - and that changed the game almost as much as the performances of Walters and Crouch. As soon as Muniesa moved to the middle we stopped being over run and the rest of the team found the time and space to play. I'll give him an 8* - although (to be fair to me ) I've been asking for Muniesa to be tried out in midfield since before this season started. Muniesa might not think it is his best position (and in Spain it may not be) but in England in the PL it probably is. Muniesa is mobile, a decent defender and good on the ball and a good passer - but without blistering pace - to me that screams centre midfield. So I deserve a 10*

Decent selection. Don't know what was said at HT but we came out cold. Very brave subs that would have been critisiced heavily if they'd gone wrong.

6 - A fairly inept display, rescued by brilliant goals. More worries about MH's signings.

8*
Gains points for a positive change, after noticing his system wasn't working. Two forwards on. Game won.
Bit concerned with the chopping and changing but won't ever knock three regular points.
