And so any lingering relegation fears have been put to rest once and for all this season
Our continued stay in the PL is in itself the strongest testament to the good way in which the club is run
But could there be more to life than this ... ?
Just asking ...

Just asking ... Safety secured - Benji will be fucking gutted. Five games left to secure another top ten finish. Still lots to ponder in the summer, but at least the knicker-wetting can be put to rest for a few weeks.

We were never in serious trouble barring a complete collapse.
There is still the lingering question over what to do though, Niasse should have scored to put them 2-1 up, and we looked bereft of confidence for large periods. I trust Peter's judgement enough to back whatever he decides to do.

Should it have ever got this close? Relief for sure, but seriously we should have been on 39 points 6 weeks ago.

I trust Peter's judgement enough to back whatever he decides to do. To be fair Arnie should have scored to put us 2-0 up. There are issues to be sorted though. FORMATION is the main one. He needs to pick one and stick with it and make sure ALL the team/squad knows how to play it. Work on this and we have a squad with a few additions capable of doing well in this League.

Well I said it last week, I am ready to shove something large and painful up Button's backside sideways but I can't be bothered, the idiot isn't worth it. Come on Button lad, I challenge you to come on here and say something really positive and comprehensible about today's result, no negativity allowed. Top result, great goal from Shaq attack and good old Crouchy again GET IN AND UTP!!! ππππ

We were never in any real trouble. There's always more to life. You have to remember, if we don't win 3 points then it automatically means EVERY team below us obtain 3 points apparently. That's certainly the only way i can see how all these doomsayers think about things to have thought we were in any kind of battles before today...either that or they all thought that all the clubs below us were suddenly going to go on runs the likes of which not one of them have ever managed at any point this season so far whilst we would lose every remaining game. Basically, they either don't actually know how the points system works (especially given the fact some of the teams below us have to play each other), can't do maths or believe that picking up (at the very least) 9 points over the remaining few games will be a piece of piss for teams who usually take about 15 games to get even close to that many

A much needed win and a very welcome one BUT we should never have been flirting with relegation in the first place. He still needs to go - a win today by virtue of calling on 2 Pulis stalwarts tells you all you need to know about Hughes' indifferent, tentative and mediocre tenure.

He still needs to go - a win today by virtue of calling on 2 Pulis stalwarts tells you all you need to know about Hughes' indifferent, tentative and mediocre tenure. We weren't anyway ffs! We were 8 points clear of the bottom 3 with 7 games to go...we'd have had to lose every game left with the bottom 3 going on runs they haven't even come close to in the previous 31 games.the bottom 3 aren't even picking up an avg of 1 point a game all season but you expect them to suddenly start piling them on in the last few games when they're devoid of confidence, some in the lower regions have to play each other anyway (which means at least some of those teams can't gain any ground on those matchdays) and are utterly awful in general. It's not even an opinion thing, it's simply basic maths combined with common sense which showed that the only people that spouted that shit were those using hyperbole to justify their hysteria. People seemed to forget that when it comes to being dragged into a relegation battle this late on, it's the bottom 3 and THEIR results that count, not EVERY fucker below us.

Much needed win We are Papering over the cracks tho Listening to Radio Stoke, we alternated between being good and being poor. We've had an up and down season and I'm happy for Uncle Peter decide on the management. But, Uncle Peter must be concerned at yet another set piece goal conceded? Uncle Peter must be wondering how long the TP signings will keep getting us out of the fertiliser stuff?

10 consecutive seasons in the Premier League for a club thought so bad that the bookies paid out on relegation bets after the first game all those years ago.
Assuming Sunderland go down, Stoke will be the 8th longest club in the league behind the 7 teams occupying the top 7 places.
Although the past two seasons may feel like underachievement, in reality Stoke have overachieved every year since the season prior to the promotion season.

Just asking ... 10 seasons in top flight again is something we couldn't even imagine until Coates mark II came along. It's been 9 seasons so far when we have never been in real danger of going down I don't think that was ever true for any 9 seasons in a row in the 52 previous seasons we spent at the top level. Why then isn't everyone delirious with happiness? BM
