I've been watching stoke a long time and I was as excited as anyone when we signed shaq, his quality is not in question and he's had a few exceptional games over his 2 seasons a lot of mediocre games and missed probably half of them? I thought he was shit today apart from a worldy goal and a few good passes, then motd make him look like a fuckin superstar. I have started to really dislike him this season, especially his gay arrogant celebration π but is my sudden dislike of him a bit blinkered and I'm looking for any reason to slag him off or is my dislike justified for the money he earns and the reward we get from him. All I know is he frustrates the fuck out of me more than any player I've seen over the last 30 odd years of me watching stoke. I want to like him but I just can't seem to, although I appreciate his undoubted quality To be fair, if you take any player ever and say 'apart from all the stuff he did well', then all of them would be shit

We seriously need to be playing him in the middle. It's clear as day from the amount of times he drifts into central positions that he feels less confident out on the wings. Now that we're pretty much safe we should just go all out put him in that number 10 role with Sobhi on the wing. The jury is still out for me with regards to Shaqiri but no one can deny that he adds moments of quality to our game when he plays.

Times a million mate ... how often do his great balls come from a CENTRAL position?

He has to play centrally as the number 10, he's so effective.

Anatomically speaking, most men's balls come from a central position.

That's how good he is when he wants.
He wanted the ball every time and looked to make things happen. He needs to do that more often. Quality player

He's easily our most creative player and he makes us look far better when he's playing. If he's here next season I just hope he can stay fit.

He's played two games since his injury and made two assists and scored a goal. You can't argue with that return.

I agree & disagree with Townsend. When Shaqiri is on the pitch, to use an old clichΓ©, he can change a game in an instant, so even in games where he 'hides' it only takes that one bit of skill from him to turn a game on it's head. The problem comes in that we only ever get to see him for 3 or 4 games before he is out 'injured' for another 5 or 6 games.
If we could guarantee 30-35 games per season out of him he'd be a massive, massive asset to us & we'd be taking direct aim at those European places... The problems arise when we can only see him in action for 15-20 games. Can a club in our position afford that?

He is as consistent as many creative players; it doesn't work every game. The biggest issue we have with him, is how to get him fit. If we can keep him fit he will be a great asset. Squawka stats show how creative he is for us.

We're so much better with him in the team. And with Arnie on the left. And therein lies the Sobhi dilemma, which is why it might be worth giving him a go in the number 10 role. He certainly has all the attributes to play there.....

Arnie and Shaq did what they liked, positionally, yday. Having Shaq in that floaty role behind Saido suits him down to the ground.

Could play any three of Ramadan, Shaqiri and Arnie in any of the three attacking roles + Arnie can play as striker (especially in a two).
You would need quality full backs and two midfield dynamo's. Allen would be one.

It's a great goal having seen it again. I didn't think he actually played that well... That said, I do feel as though he might be putting himself in the shop window and he might be off in the summer.

If Shaqiri feels like he should be at a bigger club (ability wise he probably should be) then he has to perform for us on a regular basis, he's not stupid. All this "he only wants to play for his country and not us" talk is quite frankly bollocks imo. Keep him fit for the majority of next season and he'll more than likely end up player of the season and will therefore gain interest from clubs in European competition.
