Does anyone else feel that the lad might spend more time in the front few pages of the papers rather than the back?

I mentioned the other day. Stoke city have really got to take full responsibility for allowing him to do the bbc interview. He had no evidence to back up his claims and so left everyone to believe or disbelieve his story. Not helped by Tony pulis not confirming his story. He's now left himself open to any criticism and witch hunt. He should have just been left out of the spotlight and concentrated on getting his football back together. He still should be locked away until next season. Not fit and his head is full of crap.

It's embarrassing for the lad. Not fit and to much pressure on him to suddenly become defoe overnight!!

I have the horrible feeling WBA saw us coming with him. Then why didn't they snap our hands off when we offered them £20mill? He held an event that didn't cover it's own costs to enable them to make a donation, that even the recipient themselves say was only something they "believed" (i.e.weren't contractually obliged to receive) they may get. Happens all the time with charity events. No-one is being accused of anything against the law, they're looking into whether there were any regulatory issues. All round bit of a complete non-story really.

But again mick.. Once the press and social media get there teeth into it.. It doesn't really matter if guilty or not. The lad again has to prove his innocence again. And when other trivial matters arise. He will have to do it all again because it's how the evil world works. Always looking to destroy people to gain a headline.

I'm praying he has a decent pre season and comes back fit as a fiddle. Otherwise this has the making of a very embarrassing saga for the club.

Oh i agree with you there mate and (as you've said before) that he shouldn't have dragged up the drug thing again the other week when it had already been forgotten about by most. I think this is massively less of a story however but as long as he keeps quiet on this one and lets the relevant processes play out behind the scenes it will soon be forgotten about. As you've said, he should just keep his head below the parapet from now on and concetrate on answering his critics on the pitch, fuck knows we could do with something to lift the team at the moment and him bagging a few just may do that.

That's what i mean though; if they thought he was a trouble maker when it comes to the press and his talent/potential just didn't back it up, they'd have jizzed themselves at the thought or making 20m (or even more when Spurs bid for him) rather than waiting a bit longer so they could make 8mill less surely? They got rid when they did simply because if they didn't then he'd be going for nothing in a few months

He needs to keep himself out of the lime-light and concentrate on the day job.
If he has been naughty in the past there will be all manner of former "friends" who will sell what they know to the media.
You can just imagine the editor of "The Daily Guttertrash" sitting down for the morning meeting with his lead writers and asking what potential "stories" can they finalize today for tomorrow's edition. They are in business to make money by selling any sensational tripe they can to the mugs that will buy it. I heard of a Stoke player a long time ago being told by a reporter "You might as well say something xxxxx or we'll just make something up".

Somebody lock this lad up for 6 months, feed him and train him - nothing else.
We've had more negative headlines than shots from the lad so far, nevermind goals.

Totally agree... But all media interviews have to be agreed by the club. Incase of the content of the interview.. Who the fuck allowed him to be interviewed with no evidence to back up his story ?

I have the horrible feeling WBA saw us coming with him. We can not say that Pulis did not warn us over his fitness and attitude, Hughes still chose to spend £15 m on him apparently knowing about his clandestine drugs ban , just how fuckin stupid do you have to be to ignore the facts put in front of you.

It looks like the SB Foundation turned out to be just a flash glitzy party presumably paid for by the benefactors, with Zip being donated to the main charity it was supporting which is Water Aid. No money seemingly was raised at the event even though a bunch of millionaire footballers were there. I have to say just about every charity event I have attended has made a financial contribution to its main charity, but not this one. Someone has dug this story up and seems a bit bizarre that 2 years on Water Aid suddenly say where's our donation? SBF is not a registered charity, website taken down etc so it looks like Saido thought it wa a good idea, some publicity, a big party and then whoever was running it got bored and ditched it. Daft lad all he had to do was make a small donation from the megabucks he earned and it's a none story.

I think the lad is very naive and needs some decent advisors.
I thought it was a mistake to make that claim to the BBC (even if true), and it looks like he's become a trash rags whipping boy.

I'm worried about this lad. Both on and off the pitch. Played well last night, starting to find his feet now, people bang on about his weight which is bloody ridiculous. Give him a chance, remember our top scorer is a midfielder which shows how well all our other forwards have done!

How many more frontline headlines is this guy going to make ?
1). Publicly dissing the WBA chairman and going on strike because of his Spurs transfer not going through 2) Photographed sniffing Crazy Gas out of a balloon 3). Caught over the drink drive limit on the motorway and banned for a year 4) Failed drug test at WBA and banned for two months 5) Conflicting statements from SB - yes he was fit, no he wasn't. 6). And now it seems question marks on what's happened to the donations to his Water Aid foundation
How many other players have got a record like SB?
This guy is trouble with a capital 'T' and worst of all is what we've seen so far is that he's fucking shite and done fuck all to justify a £15m fee.
WBA saw us coming and must be laughing all the way to the bank thinking MH and PC must be real dickheads.
It's embarrassing !

Some these charities (obviously not this one) ask only for £2 quid a month to supply a whole African village with fresh water, so I've wrote and emailed United Utilities asking for the same deal for me as the charities do. No reply as yet, which is a bit ignorant.
