Enjoying watching this but I wish the fella at the end of the table would shut the fuck up & let Rory talk. They're both at it a bit to be honest, Rory speaks for a full five seconds at the beginning before being interrupted about Elliot going to bloody cubs.. finishing half his answers for him as well. As an example this is how the topic of Rory's best Euro away experience is dealt with (yes I've transcribed it): Rory: I think Valencia.. Other Bloke: Valencia... Rory: was, was unbelievable... EH: Is that where we took the most? OB: Oh yeah yeah, definitely, yeah, yeah.. it was incredible that, it's, it's... Rory: I think the stadium helped as well... OB: oh it was great because it.. Rory: ...you'd never seen a stadium like it EH: The Mestalla OB: ..it was, it was falling apart, but in a good way... I remember getting to the top of the ground, there was like bits of sellotape holding the bloody stand up and all this sort of stuff, but it was just incredibly rustic and.. it was such a great experience that trip.. oh it was just phenomenal EH: And I missed out on it all 'cos I was a poor student... didn't go a game... OB: You had a nightmare there El EH: absolute, absolute stinker OB: You did have a nightmare, it was wicked So we're treated to a brief snippet of Rory attempting to answer the question, before thirty seconds of weepy-eyed pub talk between our esteemed hosts while Rory kind of listens politely, then the conversation moves on. Anyway I don't mean to be too critical elliothackney, it's all good stuff, just let the guests speak for themselves eh

They're both at it a bit to be honest <SNIP to save a massive quote> I didn't get that far to be honest, mate. I was enjoying it but after a while I got fed-up of listening to the two lads talking when all I wanted to hear was Rory's opinions/thoughts.

Great video, enjoyed it. Although true in parts the comments on here are very unfair. End of day two Stoke fans enjoying company of a modern legend, think Rory seemed very relaxed and did not feel like an interview more like a casual chat. Would love to see him return in some capacity in the future maybe with another ex team mate along side him.

That is just so annoying
They are shocking interviewers.
Firstly, they don't actually listen to the person they are interviewing.
They are so pre-occupied with either showing off what they already know (so why bother make an interview!) or just talking about themselves.
Its cringeworthy!

It's just an informal interview, like mates at a pub. I think it's a lot better that way to be honest and I appreciate what Elliot has done for Stoke fans.

For better or worse, Rory Delap played an enormous part in making Stoke famous around the world and giving the club its cachet. If you were to ask foreigners to name a Stoke player past or present, I wouldn't be surprised if he were the plurality answer even now.
Rory seems like a modest decent guy.

Thought the style is perfect, can get a lot more information from an ex player in this format! Formal interviews are boring, same questions ect. Excellent podcast, very much enjoyed - keep up the fantastic work. God knows why fellow fans have negative comments for fans trying to share something with other fans.

Its an informal chat, two way dialogue. I enjoy the dialogue from the presenters point of view, our viewpoint as fans, against what Rory says. If you want straight laced formal interviews stick to MOTD. Love how you've typed out a transcript, not get out much?

Was alright, get the feeling Elliot doesn't know a whole lot about what was happening at Stoke pre 2007/2008. Not just from this podcast, but from the others too.
Although I do enjoy the content. Rory is a legend.

I understand the format, I just think there's a time and a place for hearing the fans' perspective and it's not (generally) when you've got a club legend sat in front of you trying to get a word in edgeways. To be fair it must be a difficult thing to get right in terms of tone and I'm just offering my opinion on this particular exchange. I like the Bear Pit output generally.

I haven't listened to all of this yet, but I wonder whether these chats would work better with just the one interviewer?
As others have said, there are times when it seems that everybody's trying to talk at once, or one of the interviewers finishes Rory's sentences off for him. I get that it's supposed to be informal, but it's still awkward to listen to when people are stumbling over each other to talk.
Even the little space fillers, the "yeahs" and "yeah, yeahs" that we all use in everyday conversation to let people know we're listening to them, grate on the listener's ear. Often, staying silent is the best tactic there is as an interviewer: leave the gaps and most interviewees will look to fill them. I'm only speaking as a listener, certainly not as someone proclaiming to be any kind of expert on this sort of thing, but that's what stood out for me.
Overall though, it was still an enjoyable watch/listen and it's great that Bearpit do what they do.
Anyway, I'm thinking who would make the best interviewee for the next podcast...
Gerry Taggart, Vinny Overson, Jon Parkin, James Beattie would all be great, I reckon.
