Ask him if he has a left-footed friend who can come with him and play on the other side...

Looks like he throws himself into tackles a lot, couple of decent crosses, a more cultured left back with a bit of bite might be a good thing. Although i do love bards.

Cheers. Do the club not have much faith in him? Seems a bit odd buying a young lad in, on top of supposedly talking to Bardsley and Johnson about new deals, when you have a young lad in reserve, and a local one at that. I think they have lots of faith in him tbh. But maybe not enough yet to chuck him in as second back up. I think a loan next season in League One will be the best idea for him.

They said recently they wanted players to enhance the existing starting 11 I think we've got to be looking at starters not add ins like we did with Moha and Molina if we are buying Spanish again they should be good enough to start in my opinion in fact whoever we buy should be better than an existing starter in that position. We do seem obsesssd with the right back position when the left back one is so weak and has no competition!!! Links to Robertson of Hull only last week - last I checked, he plays left back...... Not a bad player, what position does Trippier play at Spurs left or right hears they are looking at Shaw if Rose gets snapped up by Citeh

I have no faith in hughes overseas buys, best stick to buying British lads The two best players he's signed have been overseas buys. I agree they are the best, but do a list of the failures. I would go British

This lad, Shaw and Trippier in; Johnson and Bardsley moving on.
Shaw, Pieters, Campbell, (Muniesa also?), competing on the left. Trippier, Palencia, Edwards, (Cameron if needed also), on the right.
Dead easy this football lark.

Yes, but who is Campbell? Do you think he means Cameron? I don't think so, due to the fact that he would be listed as a viable left back option and Muniesa would only be a possibility. I think perhaps he means Taylor.

Dead easy this football lark. I think he'd rather join knowing he's competing for the number one spot with Johnson or Bardsley as opposed to Trippier. Just a thought.............

Seems a bit odd buying a young lad in, on top of supposedly talking to Bardsley and Johnson about new deals, when you have a young lad in reserve, and a local one at that. Johnson looking for a move? Just hope that if we do get him he doesn't have to wait 12 months for the chance to play ( this happened to a very patient Muniesa) I don't think the fact that we are talking to Johnson AND Bardsley means we have any intention of keeping both of them Bardsley, given his age, would be ideal as cover/competition whilst a youngster beds himself in. The same could be said of Johnson but Bardsley would be my choice to keep.

As an overview it seems clear that at last we are seriously looking at strengthening our pool of defenders. There have been several links in the last few days that suggests that signing one or two new fullbacks will be a priority this summer. Stoke have already been connected with Andrew Robertson at Hull, and Taylor at Leeds, and now Palencia. Hopefully these "leaks" are not in part merely a tactic to put pressure on existing defenders to sign new contracts without too much haggling.

This lad on the right, Charlie Taylor on the left, Bruno signed, Butland fully fit = A decent defence

Hopefully he's not put off by what's happened to Muni and Boj. Hopefully the manager doesn't lump £18million on someone only to bench them. I'd rather punt £5 mil all day on Barca B talent than hope on bigger transfers around Europe. I like the sound of this deal. Besides, Bojan is still a Stoke player and could come back with Muni and this guy at Fullback we could be the real Stokelona

I'd rather us go all out for Trippier to be honest even if he cost us around 12 million. No only is he a good defender he would increase our attacking scope no end as his delivery is so good. We should at least test the water.
Spurs are spending a fortune on their new stadium, you just never know.

Tripper's attacking and defensive ability is good enough for him to play well at right back, wing back or a conventional right winger. AND he takes good free kicks and corners - what's not to like? I wonder if Spurs would sell - he gets very little game time and that isn't good at his age - he should be playing every week.
