Huth in his day (for Stoke).... Or Bruno as we see him now???
Who would you go for???
I loved Huth, I really did, but Bruno is something else....like Ab Faye he has an amount of skill about him as well.... Huth was just a solid centre half...although he did chip in with a few goals for us as well!!!
Tough call....but I think it's Bruno for me!!!

Bruno in the here and now. He reads Proust and shit rather than getting involved in games of 'Cock or Nein Cock' with Crapslinger. Hard thinker.

Shawcross and Bruno good pairing Would sooner have smith and bloor I loved Smith and Bloor and they were great in their day but against the sort of pace Chelsea had all over the pitch they would have struggled. I know that all players are a lot fitter and faster these days but Smith and Bloor were not the fastest even by the standards of the 70s. They's have struggled - as a pair - against most of today's Premier League sides. Either of them plus a faster modern CB might have worked - but not both of them. It would be like having two John Terrys - one is great but two would be too slow.

Bruno edges it for me due to his far superior distribution, better pace and the fact he gives less fouls away.

For defending and determination , Huth, but Bruno is a better footballer.

Some of you have very short memories as evidenced here and on numerous other threads over the last 12 hours.
Edit...neither are better than Ryan and neither get anywhere close to how good abdy Faye was.

Huth was fantastic for us but this lad is something else. It would have been quite a scary partnership to see him and faye together

Bruno, technically miles better and quicker, no slouch in the physical battles either, thought he dealt with the handful that is Costa very well at times yesterday.

In the pre-match Hughes mentioned what a leader he was. Future captain..?

Tough one. If Bruno signs permanently, as rumoured, then we've yet to see the best of him. So for that reason I'll go Bruno.

Bruno. Better with the ball and picks up relatively few yellow cards for a centre-half.

This for me I loved Huth but BMI is a far more accomplished all round player. If we sign that player for £8/9 million depending on the exchange rate it will be an absolute steal.

Bruno for me Huth taught Ryan too many bad habits ie the shirt pulling he was a better player then and relied on his quality rather than some of Huths tricks but if we are looking at older players Ian Cranson for me just a pity about his knee injuries he could read a game so well

If Bruno could score the goals that Huth used to score then he wins. However unless or until he starts to do that I'd have to say Huth despite Bruno being the more accomplished defender.

Bruno easy. He doesn't need the dark arts to defend excellently.

Come now, you all know the rules.... players who used to play for us are always superior to the current lot.
Peter Handyside all day every day for me.

Does anyone know if we have a set fee in place for BMI or is it still something we have to sort out?
