Must be Schlupp.
Bit embarrassing.
Good lesson for everyone - don't start riffing on a subject you're not well versed in as you can look a bit of an idiot. Ask Donny Trump!

It was a couple of years ago, he can be forgiven. And we won the game so the scouting at the time was good enough

Very Poor on Hughes part and surely the Sentinel being a local paper should have just cut those quotes from the article.

Really got his finger on the pulse hasn't he. It also highlights the thing about Stoke not being busy enough or taking enough gambles in the market. The lad Fofana(?sp) we were heavily linked with in Jan where is he? He's still in the French second division because we didn't have the drive to do the deal. Its possible he could have been our Kante or another player we used some of our vast wealth on bringing in on a bit of a punt instead of paying big wages to past it stars.

Perhaps Hughes has lost his bottle, especially with big money signings. Which have mostly been fuckin useless.

Some people on here need to get a life Don't they fucking just. Pitiful. But sadly unsurprising. You can almost imagine some of the sad gits rubbing their hands with glee and practicing their dastardly laughs as they read the story.

Maybe so but you'd expect a full time Premier League manager to be better informed if only as an afterthought ie after he burst on to the scene "where did they get him from? How much did they pay? Are we looking in the right places? Or should he just be thinking Oh they're Leicester City we can't compete with the likes of them we're only poor little Stoke.

Hughes gaff doesn't seem any worse than the spelling of the word 'gaffe' in the title.

No they haven't they've been a mixed bag as all football transfers are, in fact I think more big money deals turn bad than any other. We're not talking big money signings anyway, you wouldn't expect to rival Chelsea for his signature for £30/£40M you've got to have a system whereby you give yourself a chance of getting him before Leicester. We've never really shown that bottle, you have to bring in more than the odd one now and then and be prepared for a big percentage to go bad. We have a little tinker at the odd one occasionally then shy away because that odd one doesn't come off a'la Arismendi. Thats not how you do it, if you bring 3 in and 1 succeeds thats still good business whether he stays for years or bogs off for big money after 12 months like Kante.

People are completing missing the point. As manager of our club are you not concerned he seemingly has a poor knowledge of players. This could impact on scouting and player base.
Kante signing for Leicester last season is not exactly a signing which went under the radar he was talked about a huge amount last year and how Steve Walsh had plucked him from France.

If you don't think it's an issue or that poorer mistake then don't bother commenting on it. Don't have a go at others who are concerned by it.

Didn't they buy Kante based on his opta stats which were unbelievable in the French second division and which have continued in the premier league? Honestly a guy playing football manager on PlayStation could have spotted him.
