After losing our number one keeper to injury for over 12 months following England duty they can stay as far away from international duty as possible for me. Especially with the level of performance most of the time from the squad

I think Grant merits a call as one of the 3 keepers.
Statistically he's in the top 5/6 keepers this season and we've all seen with our own eyes what a difference he's made to our side. I like to think that Southgate is more open to selecting players on form than reputation but we'll soon see

I just completely 'blanked' on who is the current England manager I got it in the end but it makes me question my dedication to the cause

I really can't see why Grant would get the call.
Hart and Forster are a shoe in.
Heaton has been performing as well if not better.
Foster too.
Pickford is young and should get the nod for experience as the other 2 are plenty experienced.

Well with Vardy clearly out for the rest of the season with a serious injury from Nasri (or celebrating an Oscar for his performance in Swan Lake)
could Saido Berahino get a call =)

I think there is zero chance of anyone from Stoke being called up anytime soon. In fairness if I were Southgate I wouldn't pick anyone up from Stoke either. Grant is behind Hart, Forster, Butland (when fit), Pickford and Heaton in my opinion albeit he has been great since he joined and Shawcross is a long way down these days, possibly behind Cahill, Smalling, Stones, Keane and even Phil Jones. Berahino needs to get scoring and Johnson has had his day.
So sorry no England call up for a Stoke player anytime soon I am afraid

He played after saying he wouldn't but I'm not sure if he then stuck it back in. If Grant was 5/6 years younger I think they'd properly consider him but unless we get 2/3 injuries then I don't think he will.

Southgate is a company man through and through. Why do you think they picked him having had their fingers burnt with fat Sam?

Jermaine Defoe? Andy Carroll? I'll give you Defoe but Carroll can't of played more than 10 or so games all season Wilshere went to last years euros having only played three games for the arseholes that season. Current form doesn't come into it when being picked for England.

Pickford is young and should get the nod for experience as the other 2 are plenty experienced. Worse keepers than Grant have played for England (Casrson,Garry Bailey for e.g.) but yeah unlike most areas England have lots of keepers I think Foster is still not available for selection agree that Pickford warrants a call up ideally Butland makes the summer England squads as for elsewhere with Kane out he has to pick Defoe (despite his age) surely? like to see Maguire called up (as well as Keane)

Defoe at 34
however he is still fit & fast/sharp & of course scoring goals (in a poor side too)
can he do it for England next summer?: don't see why not Obviously Kane is the main striker for England & Rashford looks promising but given our dearth of strikers Defoe should at least be in the squad every time for me

No Walcott.
Surprised at that. He's been doing well this season.

Not much to inspire really. When I see Cahill's name it makes me yawn. Not that he is a bad player like it just emphasises the dearth of English talent.
