Deserves a mention, 100% commitment, he has the odd lapse but he would start every game in front of Johnson if fit from here on in. Loves a tackle does Phil ha!

He's played better than Johnson this season in my opinion.

Johnson was caught in possession a couple of times on Saturday and sometimes seems a bit casual in my opinion. Phil deserves his place after tonight's performance and I hope Les allows him a run of games now... will probably have to with Johnson injured AGAIN!

Phil has really upped his game. He looks fitter, sharper and less wild than he used to.

He's a true pro who for me should start in front of Glen now whether he's injured or not

It seems nowadays that full backs are judged more on their attacking prowess, but I'm still old school and prefer full backs who can defend first and foremost, and for that reason I'd pick Bardsley every time. He's also an evil bastard which is an added bonus.

Normally Bardsley gives me nightmares. Tonight he was awesome. Tackling, passing and organisation were spot on. He can do it!

I will be seriously fucked off if we let Bardo go and keep Johnson.
He's been the best right back at the club for 12+ months now.

Gladiator among boys tonight. Really impressed with his turn around, we might end up shoving off Johnson and keeping Bardo as cover / starter depending on the opponent now. Great pro to have who always give it a go even with his 1970's tackles here and there.

If you are looking to defend then Bardo is the man every time.....Johnson is and always has been a bit of a luxury item

Hard as nails. Brave as they come.
Can play a bit too.
He's surprised me I'll be honest. Wouldn't drop him for Johnson.

Yeah, I really liked Johnson when we were playing well early last season. Bardsley is the best right back at the club now by a mile and could still do a job next season with a some good cover.

I'll never quite understand why Sunderland let him go.
Really, really solid Premier League player.

Forget all this full backs pushing on' bollocks, I like my defenders to ' defend' first and Bardsley does this consistently now - for me anyway.
That's what he's paid to do
Very good game tonight.

As said earlier-I like our defenders to defend.
Why do we need wing backs when we have Arnie,Shaq and Ramadan?
Win the ball and then give it to a player who can do something with it.
It ain't rocket science.

He's upped his game this season. Need to get rid of Johnson who is finished as a premier league player and get in a younger right back who can develop under Bardsley next season.

I'll never quite understand why Sunderland let him go. Really, really solid Premier League player. He moved because he wanted to improve his game under Mark Hughes & co. Which many of them have said, and Phil has. Since his sending off in the Cup vs Chelsea he's tamed his wilder instincts and has become a reliable and valued player. Better players around him who want the ball and that. Love him. Give him a free kick in the Prem. booosh. Bit of a dodgy groin though, or is he just hamming it up a bit?
