Anybody else giving serious thought about not renewing due to being bored shitless??
I got a season ticket for the first time in 6 years this season but wished I hadn't bothered. Been massively underwhelmed and disappointed by our performances at home.

We are mid table in the toughest league in the world? We are a small club from one of the poorest areas of the country!
I had a season ticket for every one of the shit years we spent outside of the top flight of English football. That was underwhelming.
Yes you pay for entertainment and it is your right to choose. But trust me it don't get better than this at Stoke or any of about 80 other pro clubs. We hang in and hope we can do something in the cup every now and again. It might be underwhelming but that is life. I wanna shag a different new gorgeous model every week, but guess what it ain't going to happen and is an unrealistic expectation for a overweight balding middle aged bloke!
Not saying fuck of the Vale but seriously, go to Crewe or Vale and watch a match and then appreciate what we take for granted. Keep the faith hope it clicks and we win something. Enjoy top flight football. If you actually enjoy football???
Then again you could go watch Man U, they win stuff..

I've even been to watch a game at Crewe and it was appalling. Thing is though, Crewe being awful didn't bother me because it was a free ticket and I don't support them so ain't fussed either way. The problem I've had this season is 'expecting' better from my team. I'm completely turned off by it and have skipped a few games because I didn't fancy it

I'm pissed off more than anyone but I had a season ticket when we had Ben petty, kofi nyamah, Bryan small, etc etc etc... losing at home to Birmingham 7 and watching shit games v Plymouth, Vale, Scunthorpe etc etc. I used to dream I'd see my team in the prem so I won't be giving it up anytime soon

What a fucking horrible mentality to have.

A badge of honour? Not at all - it's how I feel and judging by a lot of frustrations from others on this board and the fact that the date for renewal is coming up, I thought it was a fair question to ask

But trust me, sit back and enjoy it. We could soon do a Leeds or Villa or Charlton, Coventry ..............etc. The most realalitic expectation for us these days is we beat the chaff ( which Bournemouth aside we have) and every now and again we stuff One of the big boys. It makes it all worth while 👍 A few years ago, these were considered bonus games, now we are genuinely disappointed when we don't win. Progress sometimes is well disguised. KEEP THE FAITH! 😎

We are getting better players that's for sure. A thread was made on here the other day about player of the season and the top three by most Grant, Allen and Bruno and put in Ramadan in the mix (one for the future) another window like that plus Berahino we could be going places.

I'll renew but: -
a) it's bollocks to suggest the club is doing all it can and treating us brilliantly by freezing prices
b) I'd prefer a new man in charge come the first match of next season

I don't understand posters like you who seem to have this idea that we can ONLY be a mid table team with a cup run here and there. Like that's the line, it's impossible to progress. What a fucking horrible mentality to have. It's about being realistic. Obviously it's possible to break out of mid table and into the top 6 or even beyond, Leicester proved that last season. Get the right manager, make some shrewd signings and have a few stars align and it's possible. However for a club like us it's very, very rare for that to happen. Off the top of my head there was Leicester last season, Ipswich finished 5th in the early 2000s. Maybe Bolton got top 6 in their heyday under Allardyce when they had Anelka etc. Other than that though I can't think of many others who have made it and where teams have broken through it's usually been a one season wonder before they've fell back to their usual level in mid table or lower. I'm not saying we can never reach higher than mid table or we shouldn't aim for it, in the end of the day it's that hope and ambition to improve which keeps you coming back. You need a dream and an aim as a football fan and saying we can never get higher than mid table is depressing as you say. However I don't think that's what most fans are saying at all, it's about putting things into perspective and distinguishing between what is a true crisis and what is just a little bit disappointing. If you have unrealistic expectations you'll always be disappointed it's about getting the balance right between ambition and seeking to improve and what is realistically achievable for a club our size.
