He has been dire lately. Muniesa needs to replace him, and quick.

We always look for a defensive partner for Ryan, we had it good with Huth and Abdolaye.. now we need to find a defensive partner for Indi .. providing we do actually buy him

Honestly, should be back up. Said in the match thread, we can make all the apologies in the world to cover him. But the fact is we're never going to see that player we had before his back operation. Sooner the hierarchy recognise it the better. He's been preserving his back ever since the op, that's not what you need in a full bloodied CB.

Been a great servant but time and injury have made him average at best. Need a replacement in the summer and if he doesn't like being back up time to part ways.

He was more than good enough to get in the England team during Hughes's first couple of seasons here. Sadly injury has made him a shadow of his former self.

His back problem has left him less agile. He should have been in the England squad years ago but not now

Against palace benteke managed to turn him round with a manouvre which took the best part of 10 minutes to execute !!!

Ryan deserves more respect than the overreaction that we see on here whenever he has a bad game. He's been fine recently. Everybody has had a shocker today.

Don't be silly , the bloke is exactly what you say , a legend , and that can't be taken away. He is also, I'm sorry to say, being made to look incompetent far too often these days and today he is shown to be light years off being able to cope with a quick and clinical forward. It's exactly what I said - a bit sad.

Or there would have been even more disgraceful personal comments about him no doubt. Whilst you haven't called him a wanker others have. They're ungrateful scum.

He was a very good player for us both in getting us promoted and largely since then. Since his injury he hasn't been the same player, compounded by the fact we lost the back line leader of Huth. Shawcross also got let off the stick when we had bad results with Wollscheid as his partner but in all reality they were equally as poor as each other.
Hope we get the old Shawcross back, but it's becoming more and more likely we won't.
