When these inbred Luddites learn to have some respect for their betters and stop calling us "Sjoke" I'll perhaps have some time for them.
Til then, they can rot.

Vale fans are locals too, many of them friends. Happy to do friendly rivally but sad to see how badly they are managed by current owners. They don't do friendly rivalry pal, smurf is doing a cracking job

Tranmere are to Liverpool what Stafford Rangers are to Stoke. A better example would perhaps be Burnley and Blackburn. The season Blackburn won the Premier League, Burnley were relegated to the 3rd Division (or League 1 as it's now known). You can bet your last penny that Blackburn fans took the piss out of Burnley and if Blackburn end up relegated to League 1 at the end of this season, Burnley will be repaying the compliment in spades. Oh, and if the Vale are relegated, this thread WILL be pinned, with bunting and Kool & The Gang's "Celebration" played on a loop all summer. I find the issue of hating Vale a bit more complicated. With all due respect the Blackburn-Burnley comparison isn't really valid due to the similarity in size between the 2 clubs. You could nit pick that Blackburn probably have a slightly bigger fan base and have won a few more things but they're roughly equivalent sized and that contributes to the fierceness of the rivalry. The best rivalries are always between similar sized clubs where no one club ever holds complete dominance forever. With us and Vale we're clearly the considerably larger club who are much bigger in every possible comparison metric you could think of. Fan base, history, stadium, potential etc. In size terms the rivalry is more comparable to something like Wolves and Walsall and hating Vale is a bit like a bully picking on the wimpy, socially awkward kid. It's a bit of fun and makes you feel superior but really they're an easy target and you should really pick on someone who is at least capable of fighting back. However this is where we at Stoke have a problem, we don't really have any similar sized rivals. The closest similar sized clubs geographically are Wolves and Derby but both of them are closer to other cities and consequently have fiercer rivalries with other teams. West Brom, Villa and Birmingham for Wolves and Forest and Leicester for Derby. We're well down the pecking order for both of those clubs which kind of leaves us with Vale as the only team we can have a reciprocal rivalry with where both sets of fans hate each other. Add to that the absolute unrelenting piss taking they gave us in the 90s when their best ever period and our worst ever period coincided together and they regularly beat us and even played in higher divisions than us for a time and I think that hating Vale is acceptable overall. Although I can see why some fans think it's a bit embarrassing to hate such a clearly smaller club who have almost always operated in different circles to our own.

I work with a Vile fan who has the same treble every weekend- Vile and Crwho? to win and Stoke to lose. This is why I revel in every misery they suffer and hopefully suffer for many years to come. Plus, as a taxpayer I resent my taxes being used to keep those cunts afloat. So fuck off Fail

Matty Etherington's solution was to sign a lucrative Premier League contract with Stoke. This guy is fucked

Friend just sent me this pic, what a shambolic state of affairs at Cov Thats the crowd now, just before kick off - she says there is a decent Vale following, but its eerie. Sad but a story of a club mismanaged to death! Honestly dont think they will be around in 5 years. Conference/Nat League beckons, no doubt bankruptcy and screw creditors over, then reappear as FC Coventry or something. Ive backed the Vale (and Bolton) in a double both at 2/1 Attachment Deleted

It is a sad state of affairs that's for sure and warning to any set of fans what can happen with bad owners. My 2 visits to the ground watching Stoke were very enjoyable and historic in their own way.The 1st being the Boskamp/Rudge fallout and the 2nd being the fantastic 2nd half that told me we were getting promoted.Have to say I really liked the stadium but I think I was in the minority but Cov's imminent trip to Wembley proves what support they have if they can get it going again with 41,000 tickets sold I think.

Sold 45,000 for Wembley.
Never really liked that Ricoh stadium to be honest. Can't put my finger on it but never felt right as a footy stadium to me.

They're already resigned to starting from scratch in some Godforsaken division in non-league....

I still remember Lenny's goal at that ground.
That was the day I suddenly realised we were going to be promoted.
