Sidibe hopes for new deal Malian eyes extension
Mamady Sidibe is hoping to open talks with Stoke City over a new contract.
The Malian forward has played a huge part in helping The Potters achieve automatic promotion into the Premier League for the first time.
The popular African marksman is not a prolific scorer, but has been essential to Stoke's style of play and is a firm fans favourite with the Britannia faithful.
"Mamady wants a new deal and the way he has played this season I don't think many people would disagree he does not deserve one," his agent Gregory Dakad told skysports.com.
"The fans love him and Mamady loves it at Stoke - they have been perfect for each other.
"We are looking to have talks before next season."
Sidibe is reportedly attracting interest from a number of clubs from England and France - but the former Gillingham and Swansea star is desperate to pen a new deal with Stoke.
The 28-year-old has two-years left on his current contract.

2 years left on hid contract and the fact that he will be fourth striker next season. He needs to prove he can be effective in the Premiership. If he proves to be shit then it will extra wages on a longer contract pissed up the wall ala Griffin.

I really don't buy all these comparisons with Kevin Davies, and particularly Kenwyne Jones, who has looked a real diamond this season.
Mama's done a smashing job for us at this level, but I think it's way beyond him to play a similar role in the Premier.
Maybe there'll be a place for an awkward so-and-so like him to ruffle a few feathers from the bench, but surely we want the best 2 forwards we can to represent us in the best league in the world; are we really suggesting Mama fits the bill as one of them when the world's our oyster in the transfer market?
You've got to hand it to Mama's agent for trying it on with two years left on his deal though.

Why don't we offer him a pay as you score deal that may kill his enthusiasm for a new deal ;D but seriously not that bigger surprise I'm sure every agent who didn't have an promotion rise clause in their players contracts (like I assume Fuller, Lawrence etc who've signed contracts in the last few months have) will be coming knocking wanting a share of the £50million for their clients. Maybe he should sign up with Ant Jr's agent his new contracts always seem to go through without any trouble

He signed a new deal not so long ago and his performances have not improved since so why the hell should we offer him a new contract when he has 2 years to run.
If he starts moaning just fuck him off, he should be grateful he is in a prem squad.

our kenwyn jones?!? Kenwyn not a big scorer by any means but how pivotal was he to sunderland? Yeah but hes got bit of pace and doesnt score 4 a season to be fair mama has got a fair bit of pace aswell and anyone that says different is just daft! I honestly think he will be pivitol to us next year someone just check how many assists to fullers goals have come from mama! He takes loads off pressure from ricci which is why ricci has bagged so many this year. Terry vs mama could be a good duel as JT certainly isnt going win much in the air against mama

I am one of mamas biggest fans i thgink he is brilliant, i dont think we would of been promoted with out him but i think its one step to far for the big man. Also ricardo gives up when he gets shoved around like a rag doll and i think he will get pissed off even more in the big league. hope i am wrong

His agent is trying to take advantage and I don't like that. We would get a fair price for him if we sell him now. He's lightyears from being premiership quality.
Cash in Stoke!

He's already signed up until 2010 Tazi.
TP should tell his agent to do one.
This is almost as funny as Tony Kelly's "Play me or sell" ultimate.

I think it may be agent talk and this agent doesn't seem like a very nice person. Link SWANSEA are furious with top French agent Gregory Dakad after attempts to sell striker Mamady Sidibe to Barnsley collapsed. The cash-crippled Swans, believed to be facing a pounds 200,000 unpaid Inland Revenue and VAT bill, seemed set to flog their star forward to the First Division side for pounds 190,000 last weekend. But Paris-based Dakad is believed to be demanding a huge 30 per cent slice of the fee. That seems to have derailed Barnsley's bid to sign Sidibe and could also put off other potential buyers. Middlesbrough, Leicester Stockport and QPR are also keen on the 6ft 4in hitman who has scored six goals in 13 starts. French-African Sidibe, 21, arrived at the Vetch on a free from CA Paris in the summer. Swans spokesperson Peter Owen said: "Dakad insists he had an agreement for a big commission on any fee we receive for Sidibe's sale. "Chairman Tony Petty has told him to produce documentary evidence of the agreement he insists he had with our former manager John Hollins. "As yet he hasn't produced anything in writing, so you have to question whether it does indeed exist." Copyright 2001 MGN LTD Provided by ProQuest Information and Learning Company. Some people say to fuck him off, but ask yourselves one question, which player could play the role he does "under TP's formation" better?. Mama will batter those Premiership panzy defences senseless. Go oarnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Mama, top man. Heaven forbid that if we did get rid of Mama and we came straight back down. Mama at what he does is good enough for the Premiership.

This could be the start of his dignified departure.
The chances of getting a new contract right now are zero, subsequently rumours abound that he’s unsettled and we will sell at the right price and off the big loveable lump goes.
Everyone’s winner including Monsieur Dicked unfortunately.

Will Mama make it ? - Jury's out
Will Fuller make it ?- Jury's out
Will Lawrence make it ? - Jury's out.
It's going to be very interesting.
Fact is, all the players ARE unproven at prem level, i only expect Shawcross and Whelan to be able to REALLY compete at this level, Lawrence lacks REAL technical ability on the ball and speed to GET past full backs at the top level- but the jury's out and i think he'll be the one to rise to the challenge.
I really don't know about fuller, he could so easily do fuck all, or he could explode on to the scene, i expect him to do the former, prove me wrong Ric, work hard or you WON'T succeed in the premiership.
As for MAMA, alongside a very good player who can put the ball in the net, i don't see why he can't do it, again i'd keep EVERYONE, get 6 or 7 players in , including a couple of strikers who are half decent at that level (8-12 goals maybe each). You need a big squad. I can't see Fuller or sidibe netting past 6 really. Ideally we need Ric on the bench, so he can come on and do something special.
BUT, Tone knows best, he's the one who basically lives with the players, i just watch them every saturday.
We need to keep Sidibe though, i think he will add something totally different to the premiership.
