Bony can't go to China now.
Rooney is a different situation since he is owned by Manchester United.
Bony is not our player and under this seasons new loan rules loans may only be terminated during our transfer window.
So for Bony to leave now he would have had to go back to Man City in January and then he could move to China. He has to wait until the end of the season now.
That's my understanding, based on another post yesterday.

I have no idea how that sits within the rules but I really can't see why we'd keep him if we have the chance to let him go.

If it was January and Man City were happy with that we could have done, but it's now February and a Loan agreement can't be altered outside the window. It's a bit like the Wollscheid loan, they don't want him but we obviously didn't want him back so he stays there, and Bony stays here.

I don't see why if all parties want it, it can't be cancelled (not doubting the rules) but it just seems daft.

I think the point is we are not allowed (by the new rules) to terminate outside of the transfer window even if we wanted to. So he remains Man City's player on loan to Stoke City and Man City can't sell a player they have loaned out to someone else. That's my understanding anyway.

This is FIFA we're talking about Daft is their middle name, along with incompetent/corrupt/out of touch amongst other names they're known by. Apparently it's to protect the integrity of competitions.

To be honest I think thats unfair in his games for us he was highly immobile but I think that's how he has become, perhaps too many weights not pushing hard enough on the cv work. That apart I really don't think he was that awful. I preferred watching us with him up front than Crouch and the results weren't really any different once we'd got going after our awful start which was nothing to do with him. I wouldn't want to sign him on a perm and Berahino needs to have a prolonged shot at being our No1 striker ASAP.

He was last spotted with he's hands on his hips in the centre circle. But that weeks ago. So getting a little worried now for his well-being.🙁

Did I prefer to watch us play with Bony rather than Crouch? Definitely. Were results worse? No. Does Berahino need a prolonged run to try to claim the strikers berth as his own and should that happen very soon? Yes.

I agree with you Al, Bony didn't pull any trees, but did we really expect him to? He was a gamble for sure, but on worth taking on the face of it. I felt like he was finding some form against Swansea.
