I like Walters a lot and think he's been a fantastic servant to our Club but now given the options we have surely he'll only be a squad player when he returns. What do you think?

Shouldn't even be on the bench.

Yes, looks that way although we probably thought the same about Crouch 3 months ago. Things change in football.

I have a feeling he is a very well liked teammate and has a major positive influence in the dressing room. Bit like Charlie. And look Charlie actually got fit and is in the team!

He wasn't mentioned in the pre match press conference.

Great to bring on the last 20 mins or so ,people forget how many goals he does get for us unlike Billy (bony) ocean who so far has been a waste of a loan player

Shouldn't even be on the bench. This! There is absolutely no need for him on the bench if Diouf and Berahino are fit. I'd like to think N'Goy would be given the gig over him too because his development is way more inportant than having Walters or Bony on the bench.

Walters is yesterdays man. And Whelan should follow after this summers transfer window. Both have been dependable servants but it's time to move on with younger and technically better players!

Squad player. Him and Geoff can now focus more on their political careers after football!

He's been an excellent player for us over the years and when we had our early season wobble he was one of the few who dragged our performances up. He's not the future and his usual impact is less than some of our others so it's right for him to be a squad player. We could get rid of him at the end of the season but keeping him in the background till next January may be the best thing to do as an insurance policy.

If I had a quid for everytime we've thought we've seen the last of him as a regular starter..... Exactly, write SJW or Glen or Charlie off at your peril. Modern football is a squad game. form, fitness and suspension can hit at any time. Players with a great attitude and no small amount of talent will always make a contribution and it is only when you have better replacements that you can, finally, say thanks for everything, enjoy your retirement. Just look at Crouchy. Replacements have come in, but not all have 'come off': Bony, Imbula, Shaq, Bojan, Joselu, Wollsheid, Mame etc have all failed to become regular starters, for various reasons, and until they, or someone else, can do so, then SJW, Whelan, Adam and Crouch will remain valuable, and VALUED, members of the squad. Time is against these guys, but clearly they intend to make the most of what time they have left...I would question whether some others are as determined, or deserving!

Most underrated Stoke player of the last 30 years?
If his name was Jonaton Waltinho and he was Brazilian he would have been lauded a hell of a lot more.
Especially when you see people waxing lyrical over the likes of Tuncay, who was no more than average.
Still has a major role to play and often one of the only players who looks like he gives a shit when the going gets tough.

Walters has been terrific for Stoke. I believe he is the highest scorer of PL goals for Stoke. Very committed to the cause. Yes he lacks technical ability but has scored some absolute super goals for Stoke over the years. Anybody remember his goals against Chelsea. Against Bolton at Wembley?
Great servant and I guess we won't see him again this season and perhaps he might move on in the summer. However some of you should try and appreciate what he has brought to the team and the club since he joined us!

I got told by someone who works for the club that that's not the case and he is arrogant and abit of a knob. Plus some people think he is greedy on the pitch. Just what I got told by someone. They do hate him though.
