Not sure if you know Bradleys story Jamie - he hasnt got long to live bless him.
Fantastic from Defoe, he carried him round the SoL the other week when he scored his goal of the month pen.
Heart goes out to his parents, its bloody awful what they are all going through, but great to see there are so many decent people in the world still, even footballers!

I knew he had a rare form of cancer but that has broke my heart. The smile on his face , the pure happiness puts to shame all the time I moan about petty things.

Indeed Wezza.
Media is full of the dickheads who cheat on their model partners or are too stupid to cope with their wealth
We hear little of the Rory Delaps of the world cycling hundreds of miles for Donna Louise, or Tone climbing Kilimanjaro/running the London Marathon.
Plenty of good uns out there, sadly it doesnt sell papers.

Well done Jermaine Defoe! Something seemingly so little, can make such a difference, especially when it comes from one of your heroes.
Footballers are just people, they don't have to do anything but they have opportunities to do incredible things, most of us will never have these opportunities. These opportunities include things like this. The chance to make a profound difference.
I hope Sunderland stay up for little Bradley.

Great guy.
In terms of football though....How the frig did Sunderland bag him?
Fair play to them, I guess he was 32 when he joined them, they took a shot on a 32 year that perhaps relies on pace.....seems just as sharp at 34. Doesn't appear to be slowing down either.

You've just answered your own question. At the time Defoe was perceived as past it. He had been put out to pasture in the MLS and didn't settle. He was on big money. At the time I wouldn't have taken him. I felt it was a desperate gamble and I think a lot of Sunderland fans and Premier League managers did too. I was clearly very wrong.

We all dream of meeting our heroes, what a tragic shame it has to be under these circumstances for little Bradley.
Brilliant from Defoe, if I'm right in thinking he opened a football school in St Lucia as well didn't he?
Top bloke, and a fucking fine player still.

Bob Paisley said "The first five yards are in your head" as Defoe proved when he left three of our defender's standing on the half way line.

As a father to see kids fighting battles like that puts things into perspective and makes you grateful for your own kids health.

Everton also gave £200,000 to his appeal and he was a mascot (carried on by Lukaku) in their game against Manchester City.
