I felt the same as most Stoke supporters today that Tony didn't want to play an open game, but as usual keep it tight! As a lot of times with Tone in charge it paid off, absolutely dire football at times, but still it paid off! You can call this man whatever you want, but he is really getting the maximun out of a limited WBA team. You really frustrated me today and I actually wanted to to give you a physical beating at the end, but still I admire your ability to organize and get results! It hurts, yes it really does, but still I must admit you are really good at what you do! You're a frustrating prick Tone, but I still admire you in a strange kind of way!

Masterclass from Pulis today. Very well drilled all over the park, strong, physical, fit and although direct, they're capable of some very decent football. Honestly though he gave Hughes a tactical schooling, and not for the first time.
Still an absolute cunter, but credit where it's due.

He was fortunate that Yacob's appendix playing up allowed (forced?) him to drop Livermore into midfield (MOM) and add a little more variety into the WBA playmaking.

What was dire about their football? Great counter attacking play for their goal with the ball only leaving the floor as it went into the back of the net. All while Shawcross was smacking hoofs up the pitch to Crouch the whole of the first half.
Chadli, Phillips and Morrison pissed all over Arni, Allen and Affelay. Harsh to call them limited.

Sorry, but I look at the person foremost and after his behaviour at the our place and the miraculous disclosure around Berahino....... he is not high on my list off people to arse lick regardless of his footballing results.

They practically played us off the park for the first 40 odd minutes.
3-0 at half time would have been damage limitation.
He's turned WBA into a decent little team that can play when it wants but also defends when it wants.
Yes they do a bit of gamesmanship-but so did we when he was in charge, but few complained then when it got us a result.
At the moment I wouldn't mind a bit of gamesmanship-especially when we decide to lets pass the ball amongst ourselves for a while when still one down.
Ryan went up top near the end and did we get it anywhere near him-no.

They were better than us in every facet of the game and should have won by more and that's fucking that.
It's not that they were that good (although they're far more balanced than us) it's the fact that we were so utterly pish. Other than Palace, the most rancid performance of the season.

Expect his next job to be at the Bernebeu.

When it comes to a "very limited team", that could just as easily be applied to Stoke. At least they had proper wingers and midfielders who could run past people. Our team yesterday showed the dire nature of our transfer business over the last few seasons, at least he has improved their team, whilst we have gone backwards.

West Brom are a team of men with tough physical ability and who perform like well drilled soldiers, they all know their job. That's coaching isn't it? I dont like Pulis anymore by the way, there was a time when I would have washed his underpants for him but unfortunatly he is now a sour smug twat of the highest order.

Whilst I'm yet to be won over by Berahino's signing, TPs media "disclosure" last week was in very poor taste and designed to cause the maximum disruption to his start at Stoke in the nastiest way possible and was completely uncalled for imo. Understandable why MH wouldn't shake his hand yesterday. Any lingering respect I had for his tenure at Stoke has now gone as he joins the ranks of other pricks that call themselves managers in PL.

WBA's defence was well organised as you would expect from one of Leaker's teams. Apart from that they were just average.
There was something familiar about them being in total control and only winning 1-0. That's the way Leaker is though. Just enough and nothing more.

In many aspects, Pulis is a very good manager- he always was and always will be.
What he's doing at West Brom reflects the good bits of his management: he has an experienced bunch of players, drilled to within an inch of their lives and enough flair in the right places (Chadli and Phillips out wide, Rondon up front) to make Pulisball work perfectly.
If he'd have carried on doing that at Stoke instead of almost dragging us to relegation with Crouch as a lone striker, Adam playing the Mama-role and never bothering to replace Pennant and Ethers then he'd still be here now. Unfortunately he'd trapped himself into a corner tactically, wasn't prepared to lose face and so we had no choice really but to get rid. He may yet make the same mistake at WBA as soon as some ill-suited big glamour signing becomes available or he may have learnt from his fuck up here and stick to what he does best.

You'd think after 4 years in charge Hughes would work out how to beat a Pulis team. This thread is going to be clickbait for the PHW

But we have been beating sides under Hughes since he took over, that the twat in the hat could only dream of beating when he was at Stoke. Did Pulis ever beat the Shit or Chelsea, plus an away win at Man City in the league, when he was our manager, would we have beaten Liverpool away in that S/F?there is no way on Gods Earth would we have put 6 past Liverpool under Pulis.

True. We were told we should be grateful to be on the same pitch. Despite thousands of Stokies spending good money on tickets. It isn't that we expect to beat those teams BUT we do expect to try to.
