We did well to get a draw, but so did they.
Not often I get to say things like that.

I'm massively frustrated, but watching on a stream far away, it did feel it was a proper night match.. just needed an EIEIEIO and a cup of scalding bovril

I thought that it was a really good game. It got a bit stop start in the last half hour, but before then you just had two teams going at it without really stopping.

Excellent game between two evenly matched sides. I though we controlled the majority of the game, with the exception of a strong Everton spell in towards the end of the second half. Thought the Lookman kid looked a real threat for them when he came on, and Davies looks a decent player. Excellent performance from our back four, Ryan especially, in keeping Lukaku quiet and limiting space for Miralles and Barkley.
Thought Grant was immense again and he pulled off a number of top class saves. Decent little run out for Berahino. Charlie MOM.
Thoroughly enjoyable game.

Quite a roller-coaster of a game but I think on the whole we deserved 3 points. Started the game really well on the front foot and got the goal we deserved, well done Crouchy lad. Everton then got into the game, finding space between our defence and midfield with regularity for about 10-15 minutes. We then got back in control, creating a chance for Crouch and a glorious opportunity which Arnie couldn't make the most of. Then, the controversial moment of Everton's goal. At first I thought it was offside but taking my Stoke blinkers off, they came to the right conclusion and gave the goal. Although, I wasn't a fan of how the Everton players went about it. I'll add to that, why does Barkley have the arrogance of someone a lot better than he actually is? would like to smack the prick. Anyhow, just before half time Arnie missed another, more golden chance. From my point of view, he should've gone around the keeper as Robles went to ground early. 2nd half, Everton made the change at half time which subsequently meant a change of formation. This caused us problems at first but didn't lead to Everton creating much and when we got to grips with it, we were back on the front foot. The change in formation ultimately led to both sides cancelling each other out for large parts of the half but as players got tired spaces opened up. Charlie in particular was putting in wonderful crosses and Berahino was very unlucky not to get a debut goal. I think taking Allen off was the right decision but looking back now, going 4-4-2 didn't suit the players on the pitch. Everton began to take control of the midfield and imo we lost momentum. I would like to add I thought Afellay played really well today and kept the ball when we desperately needed it. Finally, THAT SAVE alone was worth getting a result and it would've been cruel if Everton scored a winner. .. that was my take on it anyway

Echo most of the above. Watched on a stream with no sound so was hard to gauge the feel of the crowd but I thought it was a good game between two equal teams. We just needed to be more clinical in the 1st half.
Roll on Saturday!

Just like to add, thought Ryan and Indi dealt with one of the best strikers in the league with ease tonight. Ryan didn't deserve an own goal against his name tonight.

Thought Afellay was good, calm and assured in possession and I don't remember him giving the ball away or passes going astray. I'm not a football genius but I was a little surprised to see people on the match thread saying he was adding nothing!!

Really good game, dominant first half and nip and tuck second half. Two teams both going for the victory and could have gone either way. Can't come away too disappointed after that.....

Always enjoy playing Everton. Typical honest hard working side, And it always seems our games with them are tough battles. I fancied a draw before kick off but dissapointed not to have won. If we realistically want finish 7 we needed to have won

Through Everton were poor and there for the taking, bit of proactive management in the last twenty minutes could have got us the three points.

The first half was very open and end-to-end. If Arnie had worn his shooting boots we would have been 3-1 up at half time.
The second half was much more scrappy and even, mainly because they switched to a back four. Good save from Grant at one end but Berahino could have grabbed a winner had his first touch been better.
Good game and a decent result!

Yep, thought it was a decent game. Fucked if I understand what's offside these days. All I know is that if the liner puts his flag up rightly or wrongly that should be it. Feel a bit robbed.

I can't work out why (other than player pressure) th official's changed their minds. The liner flagged for offside and the referee gave the freekick (as the liner was in a better position to see). But then the referee comes over and the linesman changes his mind? Why? Bloody did my nut in!

We are ace.
Yet another side who got scared by our nogger and tried to kill it by going to ground too often, niggly shit and a controversial goal that they didn't deserve on the balance of play etc.
Played them off the park for the majority of it.
We're looking goood.

Great game, this hit and hope is surely signs of revolution from the Pulis days.
We should have been a few up at half time but let's not pretend it was good football. It was basically lump it up to Crouch.
Everton were shit and did nothing with the fact they ran through our midfield at will.
Poor game of football but not a bad result. Plus add players out of position and it's all too familiar.

It was ok I was certainly not bored. Glad Crouch got his Hundredth Prem goal is there any chance he can retire now as I really don't like the way teams play with him in them and never have. Know that will rankle with a few but its the truth in my own consistent opinion.
