Jimmy was a fantastic player for us ! I just couldn't believe it when we sold him to Manure, I was shattered at the time.
He rates just behind Hudson (my number 1) in my all time favourite Stoke players list

His name was Ian Moores, a Biddulph lad, who went on to play for Spurs. Sadly passed away about 15 years ago Ek Looking at those clips makes you realise that Ian Moores was a very underrated player for us. Joint top scorer alongside Jimmy Greenhoff in 1975/76

Could we get Jimmy to re-sign for us to bring down the average age of the squad?

Echo all the sentiments, fantastic player and his all-too-brief time with Hudson was a joy to watch, with an almost telepathic knowledge of where each other was, to play the perfect pass
One thing I've never got - why did we play at St Andrews in (apparently) red and PINK striped shirts ? disaster in the laundry ??

What a great compilation, well done, if only Jimmy was in our team today, he had everything and to think we gave him away for £100k.
i am in the process of finishing my book Glory Hunter, which will be out before Xmas and Jimmy, my favourite ever player, is prominently featured.
I love that we are in the Prem and progressing so well, and we should never lose touch with our heritage which Jimmy and others played such a part in creating.

The Ritchie penalty v Middleborough towards the end of that fine montage of his, does anyone know what year this was or even better the date?
This was my first ever game but I was barely out of nappies so I just don't remember. Must have been about 73 I think
Thanks

Despite all the players we have had since, that 74/75 side is still the best.Look at the balance in the squad. All positions covered by good reliable players.

Great to see those goals from two of my boyhood heroes. In 1964 I was a 17 year old schoolboy living in Devizes ( Wiltshire ) and I remember saving up to go and watch our away game at Fulham on the 26 th of September. I was delighted that we won 4-1 with two goals from big John and one each from Peter Dobing and Dennis Viollet.
After the game I waited at the players entrance to watch our team leave the ground and get on their coach. Big John came out smoking a pipe which surprised me.
I've still got the programme for that game and our team was Leslie , Asprey , Phillpott , Bloor , Kinnell , Skeels , Bridgewood , Viollett , Ritchie , Dobing and Bebbington. The programme cost 6 old pennies and contained an advert for people to join the London fire brgade at an annual starting salary of £ 730 rising to £ 937. The Fulham chairman was Tommy Trinder who was a well known film and stage comedian and the Fulham telephone number was quoted as RENOWN 5621. The Fulham team contained George Cohen , Bobby Robson , Rodney Marsh and Johnny Haynes who all became more famous in later years.
