6* at best - easy decision to play the same team. Lucky to hang on for as long as we did. Allen was lost just running around and the gaping holes in the middle just kept opening up, leaving them to keep us on the back foot. In summary, team picked itself and he did no game management to correct what was happening

We might see it as an easy decision to pick an unchanged side, but Hughes has often tinkered with a winning side. So credit to him for making the right decision there. Before the game, the bench struck me as pretty weak and there was no-one who could be brought on to try to change the game. Hughes therefore went with the youngest and strongest to cause most closing down. Personally, I'd have taken Arnie off first before he was sent off. Afellay replaced Charlie for the same reason but if he made a difference it was marginal. So plenty of credit for a battling, for once well-organised performance, but the lack of alternatives is the result of Hughes' failed transfer policy so marks lost there. 7*
