Two faced Adrian Chiles....seem to recall him being less than complimentary about Pulis when he was with us. You can't tell its him in this film as he is so far up Pulis arse all you can see are the soles of his shoes.

Seriously, why can't you just point out that there's a feature about Peter Crouch on the programme. Why the interest in the West Brom manager?
It's getting ridiculous. Just one day, please!

Probably because he managed our club for 10 years over 2 spells. It's understandable there may still be interest amongst some of the fans.

Seriously, why can't you just point out that there's a feature about Peter Crouch on the programme. Why the interest in the West Brom manager? It's getting ridiculous. Just one day, please! Dave, I take more interest in him than I do in some other managers because he managed our club for as long as he did, as I'm sure do some other fans. I don't think that's at all surprising, and is certainly not something to feel apologetic about. It also apples to players. To take just one example, we've had far more posts on here about NZonzi than we ever would if he hadn't played for us. What's the problem ? All the OP was doing was telling us about a TV programme and it wasn't even necessary to open the post to get the information about it, which of course no-one is obliged to watch.

That was supposed to be a minor spelling edit, not a repetition of the same post But since I've come back, leaving aside what you may think about Pulis as a person or a manager, I was very interested what he was saying about why he and other managers don't give more PL game time to talented youngsters in this country - namely that technical ability is not enough, they first have to learn to win in a competitive environment, and to the effect that they are coseted from a young age and just playing to a high technical ability is not enough. I've heard that elsewhere and how young academy players in this country are less well equipped in this regard than some of those abroad where they have B teams in leagues etc. I know that it's the main reason why Stoke entered the controversial checkatrade trophy and will do again if the current format continues - which many of us oppose for different reasons.

Its a point really the rise for some is to fast and the clubs so insular when the players been there since possibly 7 years old they perhaps arent ready for the real rough and tumble. The cream usually rises to the top, the adage of if they are good enough they are old enough should perhaps pertain to their mental aptitude as well as their footballing.
