I consider myself fairly clued up on football but probably view life through as red and white tinted glasses as anyone else, so am I stupid for really thinking he is?
I think you can put Sanchez and Hazard in a league of their own, but then I think you're struggling to name 3 more (out and out) wingers who are better than Arnie. Sterling when he turns up? Mahrez has fallen off the face of the earth. The Liverpool lot play with about 600 attacking mids all over the place so I don't think you can count any of them.
There was a moment today towards the end where he was surrounded, literally surrounded, by 4 Sunderland plays and still managed to burst through and win a free kick.
I put top 5 because I'm probably jumping the gun, but now that he's added goals to his game, I would seriously consider him a top 3 winger.
I honestly don't know how he's still a Stoke player.

I said recently he's fast becoming my favorite ever Stoke player, I think he's top notch so yeah I'd say so.

I think there are very very few players with a first touch like his for starters. Quick, strong as anything and a really good footballing brain so I'd definitely put him top 5 on his day.

There aren't many I'd swap him for.
Whether he's better or worse, he's completely different to any other winger I can think of. 6ft 4 and somehow manages to combine pace and unbelievable strength with immensely close control and skill. He's also a brilliant defender.

He's very, very good. Perhaps the lack of interest in him over the summer suggests that top five clubs don't really think that he's at their level, though.

The wingers I consider better than Arnie (in the league).
Hazard Sanchez Mane Mhkitaryan
These are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Might be a few others like David Silva and Coutinho who play as wingers but they're mainly attacking midfielders.

He's probably in or around the top 10 attacking players in the league. Sublime. He's been consistently good for 18 months. So many areas of his game are top quality in my opinion.

Arnie playing for SCFC . I`m living the dream while it lasts , with all it`s ups and downs . I think it was Charlie that sent a raking pass to arnie , and the ball arrived from directly above his head , he only had a microsecond to look up but he killed it stone dead , unbelievable skill.

I don't think it's red and white tinted to see him as one of the best 5 wingers in the league (on his day). And on his day I'd only swap him for Hazard, and then Hazard would have to play bloody well for it to have been justified.

I'm very surprised mourinho hasn't come in for him. Him and ibra in the same team. Good god it would be a goal fest

A great signing by Stoke. It would be wonderful if he could win a medal during his time with us.

West Brom fans would make a similar case for Matt Phillips (four Premier League goals and eight assists this season compared Arnie's three goals and two assists). Zaha is also doing very well individually this season despite Palace struggling, as is Chadli (although I think he's playing more centrally these days).
I'm more than happy with Arnie though, hopefully today starts off a strong second half of the season and he can get double figures again.

He's a very good player, but he's inconsitant. If he played like that regular, he wouldn't be your player :

His best position is without question playing on the left wing.
Not in the hole, not leading the line, not on the right, not in a two behind a striker but on the left wing.
Three at the back doesn't allow him to play there, it's criminal to move him in order to do so.
On his day, he's easily at Champions League level playing there.

Probably top ten easily and pushing top 5-7 for me often but he can #1 in the league in any given match. Beauty of a player.

He's just lacking a little bit of consistency. The absolute best are game changes in 7 or 8 games out of 10. Arnie isn't quite on that level.
He's an absolute beast on his day though. Suppose you could argue he's better than some in the top 4 (Navas springs to mind) but he's not quite in that bracket for me.
