Nothing more nothing less. He's got to stay. The complete transformation of our football club from the dire depths of near relegation with Pulis, to within 3 inches of reaching a League Cup Final after winning at Anfield. He came here and many were unsure. He won us over but of course a lot are waiting to jump on the bandwagon "we never wanted him" "we knew he was never right" "should have stayed with Tony." These the same people who were singing his praises after the best performance in the clubs history against Manchester city just over a year ago. Hughes goes, who do we get in? Gary Rowett, an unproven young manager with 0 Premier League experience? Alan Pardew, a fool to put it mildly? No. Many of you want us to go for someone like Bielsa or Mancini. Not gonna happen. You don't go from Inter Milan, Manchester City and then back to Inter Milan to ending up at Stoke, likewise with Bielsa, Argentina national manager, Chile national manager, Lazio, Stoke? No. To actively want a man who has done so much for this club out after a few bad performances is quite simply absurd. Yes, we weren't good on Saturday. We were dreadful in fact. But it's a blip. Play that game again and we score 3/4 times in the second half but for their keeper playing a blinder. Hughes should be heralded as the best manager the club has had since Waddington, and by some great distance. Let him drop Bojan, Imbula, Shaqiri for the time being. He knows what he's doing. I agree, if any of them go in the summer it'll be a huge shame but, for the time being, let Hughes do what he's got to do to get us results - he did it for Watford, and I'm sure he'll do it for Sunderland again Saturday and make us a hard outfit to defeat. Let the results come first, get the confidence up, get behind the manager and get behind the 11 players he names on the pitch. No good moaning at Charlie when his name is announced and having a negative attitude towards him when he plays - not his fault Hughes chooses him. Get behind the lads, get behind the manager and in Hughes we trust. We'll be with you.

He'll be staying, whether the fans like it or not.
Shaq, Arnie, Bojan, in particular would NEVER of came to Stoke if it wasn't for Hughes.
Get behind the team ffs

There are plenty of coaches in Europe some of them are quite decent and have good experience and track records, we can afford to pay better than most teams in Europe so should be able to attract a decent one.

If he left I think we would drop like a bomb, Arnie would be off in a shot for a start.

If he left I think we would drop like a bomb, Arnie would be off in a shot for a start. We heard all that when the last manager was here. And I don't subscribe to the theory that there would be a major exodus if Mark Hughes wasn't our manager. There are plenty of examples of managers who bring good players to their club, have smoke blown up their arses by them but then aren't given much of a thought when a new manager comes along. I think as long as their pay cheques clear at the end of the month they're quite happy.

I /we bow to your knowledge. could you please share it, and name some of these people as I and I am sure many others are intrigued who these mega star european coaches are that are queuing up to come to the Costa del A Stoke. Things have not not been great of late, but many people would agree that the remedy of ailing football clubs(which we are not) is not a change of coaches/management but some continuity and strength of leadership. If these attributes are not demonstrated in coming months then a change should be then considered, and not now as a knee jerk and reactive reaction that would almost ceartainly back fire and cost us dearly. we currently have a manager who if was available could walk into a job elsewhere to morrow.

Coates would only get rid if he thought he could secure a better manager in his place. Get a better manager and there's no reason our better players would want to leave.

I'd make our best effort to get Lucien Favre from Nice, he was the one I settled on when I did a bit of research being fed up with being asked the same question and not having an answer. If it was my job I'd have a list of them that I was constantly monitoring just in case, regardless of how we were doing.

My heart sinks every evening when I log on here to see Hughes hasn't been sacked yet. Haha!! I love reading your posts when you have your back up against someone. Classic march. I don't think he will be going anywhere until the end of the season. If at all. Its hardly a disaster is it, our situation. But from what i've seen we are going stale. Fast. I wouldn't be adverse to a change but its gotta be right!

The guy is a genius who else would think glen johnson is a centre back and diouf a wing back! 4 years in the making before having this brainwave, Genius.
Love how the OP goes on about doom & gloom where pulis is involved and mark's heroics 'nearly' got us to a cup final, comedy gold.
'Bojan & shaqiri would never have come here if it wasn't for hughes', totally agree he has a lot to answer for? I bet imbula wouldn't of done either, or wollscheid, joselu, sidwell, given & haugaard!!!

It is a crucial time for SCFC and Hughes. A finish like last season and he knows his job will be on the line and the honeymoon with Coates junior. COates senior plucked Pulis - a cometh the SCFC hour cometh the man.
Can he pluck another up and coming or tried and tested manager to really take us on to a respectable 6th to 9th spot with the capability to have good cup runs - and put some Steele into the backbone of this " FLAIR ....less team

Ain't just a few games it's basically been the whole of 2016 we've been very poor, despite having the best squad for a while, Pulis was moved on and Hughes got much more out of his squad with additions, maybe a new manager would do even better with the squad we have now, as it's obvious Hughes is struggling to get them going.

Get behind the lads, get behind the manager and in Hughes we trust. We'll be with you. 1) We reached an FA Cup final and had a decent run in Europe under TP, so your 'within 3 inches of reaching the League cup final' argument isn't really valid. 2) The transformation, in my eyes has gone from playing boring football under Pulis to a different kind of boring football now. Under TP we'd hoof it up the field and lose the ball, at the moment we pass from Grant to johnson to Shawcross to Indi back to Shawcross to Pieters to Whelan back to Grant and then hoof it up field and lose it. Yes we played some great stuff last season and the season before but it can't just be me that thinks that because we complete more passes doesn't mean the football is any better right now? The thing that gets me is what the 2 managers achieved with the players at his disposal. Is a league cup semi and 9th with the likes of Bojan, Shaq, Arnie etc a better achievement than an FA Cup final, Europa knockout stage and 12th/13th with the likes of Higgy, Wilko, Etherington, Delap who you knew were giving their all? Not in my book.
