Today merely illustrated the issues we have had since last summer and the unrlelenting incompetence of our transfer strategy the last piece of buffonary knowing we had three players up front leaving for Africa in January and doing nothing about it . indeed the result is probably a blessing as it allows us to focus on the the remaining cup finals to save our status , with the worst most unbalanced , least comitrid squad of players in recent history, while others wrestle with replays etc .
If we can save ourselves we can then write off the £45 million wasted on Shaq , joselu , imbula . Bojan , Ramadan etc , remove the transfer team and CEO and start again , it may well make for a season of struggle again but the poison needs to be cut from the patient , their fault or not the management team by asscoation will be helped responsible , but until Schloles and Cartwright are assigned to oblivion we will continue to regress as the root of the results is in the decisions to give away our best players at deflated prices and replace them with worse ones at frankly humiliating prices given their current value in a inflationary market , and not address any of the issues in key areas of the squad .
However for now we have 18 games to make us safe , hopefully crucially Diouf , Bony and Ramadan and most critically Cameron will be back by late January and we can get a point a game over the next 10 .
Today changes nothing

The one point I agree with Benji on this is that the changes must come at the end of the season & we should/can guarantee our safety.
Until then you can guarantee the message board will be the epitome of miserableness

The fact I said a dickhead will inevitable meet a dick head , Ah the jose tactic of distraction from the real issue, distracting from the the fact I've been right since June , never mind those of us who have the. Courage of our convictions know that we will often be wrong and have the good grace to admit it , but if you don't buy a ticket and rely on hindsight then you will be always be correct but also a coward . I repeat for the avoidance of doubt today means nothing no chance Coates will do anything other than regroup for 18 cup finals

Could you just clarify who these players were that we gave away at deflated prices? I'm really struggling to think who they might be. NZonzi , Bego ( look at bravo ) , Huth Nzonzi almost at the end of his contact, Wanting to leave and only one club bidding for his services. How could we have got significantly more under such circumstances? Bego in a similar situation but we had a replacement in Butland lined up and who, incidentally, played better the Begovic up until he got injured. The price we got for Bego was about what could be expected. Huth at the time was coming back from injury and at his age would never have commanded a high price. I agree we should have kept him but to say we sold him at a deflated price is being unrealistic.
