Will do, we're at the Marriott which is pretty central by the looks of it. Been to Austria loads of times but never Vienna looking forward to it..... There is a sports bar in that hotel, I trekked across half the city on foot to get to watch the Spurs away match (2-2) last season only to be told there was no chance whilst the Bundesliga was on. There's an Irish bar around the corner which is actually better about a minute walk away should you be going on a game weekend. Ironically I'm there when we're away to Spurs I'll take the same result now.......

Its quite good but direct flights from the north are hard to come by, Ive stayed in the Marriot and Carlton there but Im sure there are plenty of smaller local hotels, food and wine is very good, found some great little places off the main squares www.belleartitrattoriapizzeria.it was one www.cantinabentivoglio.it another, had local music on as well, check out the menus and prices

We really enjoyed the ones in Vienna, Bordeaux (love France anyway), and Madrid, and liked most of them really except Berlin, oh and the rancid fish in Iceland (yuk)) ! We really weren't too keen on some of the "cuisine" on offer on his recent series through Albania and Greece - very basic and a little too "rustic" for our palates, although we enjoyed the non-cookery parts of the series as it's always interesting to see real life in different countries rather than the tourist image. His series in India was really good as well, in fact we enjoy them all. We'd like to see him do a road trip in the States to see what "real" food the Americans eat rather than the stuff you see on TV. Going off at a tangent we also like the travel programmes by Simon Reeve as he alwags shows these sometimes seemingly idyllic locations warts and all. Michael Palin's travel progs were always enjoyable but he usually did the nice bits wherever he went. More recently I've also enjoyed watching Michael Portillo's railway journeys with his Bradshaw's guide, and also Chris Tarrant's Extreme Railway Journeys. He did a one off a couple or thre years ago in the South combining food and Blues. Must be out there some where. Big fan of Portillo. Hoping to do his NY to Niagara in the next couple of years. Then again his Dutch journey was great as well....

Sounds like it will be a great watch - I'm stacking them up to watch next week. A few cities in there that I've been to in the last few years, and a few that I'm looking to go to soon.
Any of you seen Anthony Bourdain - No Reservations? Thats a good food/travel show where he takes in a lot of the 'real' food places have to offer.
