What would be your starting 11 for most games
I'd go 4-2-3-1 Grant Johnson Shawcross Bruno Pieters Allen Adam Shaq Affelay Arnie Crouch
I'd go with Crouch as he's scoring but I'd swap him in a heartbeat for a pacey strong CF (not SJW!)

I could go with that, but I'd hook Shaq off, if he kept losing the ball as he has the last few times he played. Really glad to see Afellay back though. Class act!

Go 4-4-2 and give a few teams a good slapping, to build up a bit of confidence.
I have said 456,981 times on here that 2 strikers are better than one......😁
Stop with this wingback nonsense when clearly we don't have wing backs within our ranks.
The most important thing I would do is to go back to the mantra of " if you play well you keep your shirt"
I feel Hughes has drifted away from this somewhat.

If he insists on playing wing backs, I'd move to a back 3 of Pieters, Shawcross and Indi, drop Diouf (or play him up front), stick Johnson at RWB (considering he's played most of his career as an attacking full back) and put Sobhi at LWB. In the few glimpses we've seen of him he seems surprisingly disciplined and strong in the defensive side of his game and would be slightly less out of position than Diouf at RWB.

Depends on who we are playing who is in form who is fit what they have been like in training who has been doing things they shouldn't off the pitch e.t.c.
there is no best XI 'for most games' & there never will be regardless of who the manager is.

If I was Hughes I would be looking to sign Grant and Indi. I would be desperately looking to add two fresh loanees who have pace and then also I would purchase a proven striker with pace.

Obviously it depends on fitness and, to some extent, form. I'm not sure training is a very good guide. I imagine Shaq looks very pretty in training. But I strongly disagree that 'it depends who we are playing'. It is time we picked a style which suits our players and stuck to it. Say this is how we play and let the opposition deal with it. This is how all the top managers work. Yes, the occasional tweak, but let the players get used to a settled side. It is precisely this chopping and changing which is giving us such dire football.

4-3-3 for me we lack any clear goal scorer so let the float.
Grant Johnson Muniesa Bruno Pieters Cameron Allen Affelay Shaq Bojan Arnie
