No fella YOU lighten up. See anybody can do this. Jesus wept ... No ones gossiping about the bloke it's just a bullshit thread in along line of bullshit threads. It's sweet that your looking out for him but jeez..... I'm not 'looking out' for him, he doesn't need looking out for, in fact it's not even a bullshit thread, it was a perfectly reasonable question from the OP. But there are a few bullshit posts in it for sure, probably influenced by the 'Deleters Meltdown' thread on the EE board.

IMHO Rob was/is the best poster on here by a country mile.
He is extremely articulate, refreshingly insightful and I found it very difficult not to share most of the opinions he had on the game, jesus I wish I could express them as well as he does.
His 'conclusions' series was on a different level to any other media insight we currently have available on our teams' performances.
He's taken a break from the board for his own reasons, no big histrionics, no big meltdown, he's simply stopped posting (for a while).
The very fact that there's a three (currently) page thread discussing his absence, clearly demonstrates that his contributions to this forum are missed.
Does he remotely care that this discussion is taking place?
I tell you what, I can pretty much can guarantee you that he doesn't even know that it is taking place.
For people to accuse him of taking himself too seriously, pretty much highlights why he's stopped posing on here ... genuinely, he really couldn't care less.
A bit harsh mate. Posting political on the EE leads to either meltdown or multiple personalities. But my money is on he's not really dealing very well with the back three and he's posting as Waggy. I'm missing the conclusions though.

He seemed to disappear after a debate on the EE board about Donald Trump. He posted loads in two days, he took it seriously, then went quiet. Come to think of it I remember that . I thought it was odd

Glad that at least one person is making it all the way to the end of one of my rambles though!

Condescension. He posted a massive amount in a couple of days about Trump, his election and the media. He must have spent hours on here posting in that time. How is that an unfounded assertion? Your assertion was that he went quiet as a result of that debate ... he didn't, he carried on posting after it, posting about football. Rob hasn't flounced off, he's not taking this message board too seriously, indeed the only people taking this place too seriously are those who are chatting (nothing more than gossip) about his sabbatical in his absence. I never said he flounced off. And I don't gossip. I've heard you've got a small cock though.

Rob's blog and commentary are two of the few remaining reasons to come on The Oatcake. But having a quick look through this I can see why he wouldn't bother if he's got better things to do. You can also see why so many people just don't bother anymore.

You can also see why so many people just don't bother anymore. I'm afraid it's symptomatic of social media in general. It's a shame so many of the older posters don't contribute any more. The oatcake used to be full of reasoned debate and great humour. Too many keyboard warriors now.

Shame he's gone MIA there's so much material at the moment he could have done a Top 10 conclusions.
I'm sure he's got plenty of thoughts on the 3 at the back.

If he hasn't logged in he wouldn't get your pm Absolutely fair point..except I know he has logged in since I posted .... Wow! Life is what is going on away from this site. If someone logged in for a few minutes, they were probably looking to see some specific bit of news. How do you know the poor guy hasn't got 200 PM's waiting for him and he's answered half of them? As for the notion that he's dropped the top 5 simply because of some jerks on here, does anyone really think that's the reason he has not updated his own website? Finally, a 4 page thread dissing someone who took the time and effort to write a piece that many Stokies enjoy?? Wow - again!

Can we conclude in here a conclusion about why ChiefDelilah didn't include the board in his decision? Conclusively?

I'm sure a lot of folk would post more on this board if the lowest common denominator wasn't so fucking absymal. The mods have a lot to answer for. For example - casual use of the C-word is consistently condoned but it is not funny nor clever and not really acceptable on a platform that wants to encourage an intelligent level of debate. You swore then though and didn't come across as the lowest common denominater. I don't see much deference between the F word and the C word. Not if your talking about standards. I've sworn on some posts but I didn't do it to be clever or funny. A swear word should be used as an adjective, never a comma. But for someone well-versed in the English language, there is always a better word to use than some mindless swear word that really has no connection with the topic under discussion, unless of course you are discussing sex.

I can understand him taking a break when his day to day job and personal life get busy.

Maybe the only conclusion to draw now is that the Hughes era has plateau-ed and Chief doesn't want to depress himself every week for hours writing about and discussing this fairly unremarkable fact.

He's too talented a writer not to be renumerated for it.

And I know just how hard it actually is.
